Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon Zuniga.
Hi Landon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve loved soccer for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always trying to improve, and that passion led me to the Atlanta United , where I learned what it takes to compete at a high level. It helped shape me not only as a player but also as a person by teaching me discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work.
As a Mexican American, representing my roots has always been important to me. Every obstacle and every opportunity has motivated me to keep getting better and to chase my dream of playing professionally.
One of the biggest moments of my career was signing my first professional contract with Chivas, the biggest club in Mexico. It was a dream come true and the result of years of sacrifice from me and my family. I’m incredibly grateful for that opportunity, but I know it’s only the beginning. My goal is to keep improving every day and earn everything. I want to continue growing into the best player I can be.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were times when I wasn’t getting the playing time I felt I had earned, and that was frustrating. Leaving home and adjusting to a new environment was also a challenge, but those experiences made me stronger.
Instead of getting discouraged, I stayed focused, kept working hard, and trusted the process. Those struggles taught me a lot and they make me appreciate where I am today even more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional soccer player who plays in midfield. I like to keep the game simple, work hard on both sides of the ball, and do whatever the team needs to win.
I’m most proud of earning my first professional contract with Chivas. I think what sets me apart is that I’m always willing to learn, compete, and keep improving every day.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
For me, it’s all about building real relationships. Learn from the people around you, ask questions, stay humble of course and js let the work speak for it self!
