Daily Inspiration: Meet Danny Walls

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Walls.

Danny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the summer of 2016, I bought two adult-sized Big Wheels after seeing videos of them online, thinking it would just be something fun to ride on the Beltline with my wife, Marta. On my first ride, I was constantly stopped by people asking, “Is that a Big Wheel for adults? Can I check it out?” It felt like Christmas morning as a kid when everyone wanted to play with your new toy. Shortly after, Adult Big Wheel Club was born.
Having worked in the corporate world for years, Marta and I had experienced plenty of unengaging team-building events with little to no real ROI. We knew combining the nostalgia and fun of Big Wheels with a mobile, inclusive event could create something special. Sitting at our kitchen table, we designed a unique challenge that prioritized communication, memory, and consistent teamwork over physical speed. It had to be inclusive of everyone, no matter their age or fitness level. I built all the game parts in our backyard and invested in a giant inflatable start-line arch, PA system, cones, and race flags.
In 2017, we hosted local demo events to get the word out, leading to our first corporate event that December—a giant company Christmas party in a warehouse. We didn’t know what to expect, the game was an untested concept, but within five minutes, participants were having a blast. The event went perfectly.
While keeping our full-time corporate jobs, we built a website, participated in local festivals like the East Atlanta Strut, and rode in the Little 5 Halloween parade. By the end of 2018, we bought our first truck and completed 40 events. In 2019 SEO and word of mouth kicked in and we hosted 70 events, and knew working two full times jobs was no longer an option.
Entering 2020, strong early bookings gave us the confidence to leave our corporate jobs and focus on ABWC full-time. Then COVID hit. As an in-person event business, we were at a standstill, but we secured a disaster loan and waited out the storm. Business returned slowly in 2021, and 2022 became our best year ever.
Looking toward our next phase of growth, we decided that franchising in major metro areas was the right path. We loved the idea of helping others experience the joy of working for yourself, owning a fun, unique, and prosperous business. Partnering with FMS, a local family-owned franchise firm, we launched our franchise sales push in early 2026. Today, we are receiving requests from entrepreneurs nationwide as we vet candidates to bring this one of a kind experience to new cities.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Far from it! In the beginning, the road was paved with long hours and physical labor. Marta and I were doing everything ourselves. I’d drive the van to my corporate job, work half a day, take PTO then drive to a client location, haul out and set up equipment, and host an event. We didn’t have big corporate marketing budgets, so we had to win clients over one event at a time and relied heavily on referrals.

The biggest test of all was right after we went full-time in 2020. Literally a month after taking that leap of faith, the world shut down due to COVID. Going from preparing for our biggest year yet to a complete standstill was brutal, but waiting out that storm and bouncing back to record growth showed us just how special this concept truly is.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our specialty and what we are most known for is our unique team building events. For us it’s all about creating something that no other business offers. We strive to provide an experience that is not only amazingly fun, but is also inclusive, and one that truly delivers an ROI for our clients. Additionally we wanted to go even further with our team building to include a factor that almost no one address in this category, personality, We saw in other events strong or Alpha types would tend to take over a challenge, while other more passive people would just merely follow along. It’s not team building if only a few people are carrying the team. We designed our game to break this dynamic. To complete our challenge every team member must contribute at the same level as everyone else, or it won’t work. Strong personalities back off to listen to others, while more passive people setup to share what is needed to complete the game. This really sets us apart from any other company in the world of team building. That, and of course being on Adult Big Wheels !

What are your plans for the future?
We are expanding on our fundraisers, and hope to include more of these events as a share of our total business. This along with the giant leap to take Adult Big Wheel Club nationwide with franchising has been our focus in 2026 and beyond. The plan is to have an owner operator in 20-30 cities across the US. Beyond this I would like to move into speaking at events and conferences sharing my business knowledge and crazy career path with employees, employers and entrepreneurs.
