Hidden Gems: Meet Aimee Brittain of Pretty Frugal Diva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Brittain.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started in 2004 after realizing I was spending 100 a week to feed me and my 4 year old. Which I felt was crazy. I remember what my mom would do on Sundays church, brunch, coupons. I started learning cut my bill down to 40 bucks a week. Started my blog in 2006. I have been on radio in Milwaukee, Atlanta and Chicago. I have featured on CNN and Fox 5 Atlanta. I have worked with non profits, churches and companies throughout Atlanta. I now am working with Clayton county doing a summer series on couponing. Last class is -August 22nd.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Consistency and burn out is a real thing. Also all the changes that have happened since the extreme couponing days makes it hard to save money but not impossible.

We’ve been impressed with Pretty Frugal Diva, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pretty Frugal Diva helps you live the life you want on the budget you have. I share budgeting tips by showing my budget, I show deals and tips and tricks. I even talk about how your job can save you money. All aspects of personal finance.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
