Hi LaToya , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From the time I was in college, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. While everyone around me was focused on sending out resumes, I was researching how to start a business and trying to figure out what type of business I wanted to build. I eventually began applying for jobs, but I never stopped creating on the side: I launched a small t‑shirt line, hosted events, and even did resale for a while.

When I went back to grad school, my focus shifted and the dream took a back seat. It took a few more years before I felt ready to start working on something new again. I wrote and published a book, and once that was complete, I realized it was time to return to my original vision: creating a space for people who wanted to launch a business, promote a product, or simply connect with others.

Thrive Hall Events Venue was born from that journey, a mix of creativity, persistence, and the belief that community matters. Our venue was intentionally designed to be that vibrant environment where connection, celebration, and collaboration flourish, while providing an inclusive and supportive foundation for moving dreams forward.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to opening Thrive Hall was anything but smooth. In July 2025, I officially opened the doors. I faced challenges that, from the outside, looked like clear signs to stop: contractor issues causing delays, unexpected delays with the town, and even fraudulent activity in my business account. At one point, I genuinely didn’t know if I would have the funds to open the doors due to the delayed opening. I started to feel like I was just burning thru my savings.

One of the hardest moments, and there were many, was having to cancel my very first event at the space due to unexpected requirements from the town that weren’t fully spelled out. It was heartbreaking, but it forced me to learn how to advocate for myself, navigate regulations, and build stronger systems in my business.

Every obstacle made me more resourceful and more committed to the vision. Those experiences shaped Thrive Hall, a space built with intention, resilience, and a deep understanding of what it takes to bring a dream to life.

Thrive Hall is a community‑focused event space created for connection, celebration, and collaboration. We host everything from birthday parties and workshops to pop‑ups and vendor markets, but at our core, we’re committed to supporting business owners and entrepreneurs, by giving them a space to learn, grow, and showcase their work.

What truly sets us apart is the intention behind the space. Thrive Hall was designed to feel calm, clean, and welcoming, with a minimalist aesthetic that lets people and their ideas shine. We’re known for creating events that feel organized, warm, and thoughtfully supported from start to finish. Our packages keep planning simple, and our layout makes every event feel elevated without being overwhelming.

Brand‑wise, I’m most proud of the environment we’ve built, a place where people feel seen, encouraged, and inspired. Thrive Hall reflects resilience, creativity, and community. Every detail, from the layout to the experience, was shaped with purpose.

Something people are often surprised to learn about me is that I’m a huge action‑movie fan, and while I’m not a daredevil, I love staying active and adding my own version of adventure into my free time. You’ll find me doing things like iFly, axe throwing, track workouts, Pilates, or hiking, anything that keeps my body moving and love checking out local comedy clubs. Staying active helps me recharge, stay creative, and show up fully for my business. It’s a fun contrast to my introverted personality, but it’s a big part of what keeps me grounded and inspired along with my faith.
