Today we’d like to introduce you to Olympia Papageorgiou.

Hi Olympia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Sure! Well…. when I was very young, I knew that I wanted to understand people and help them but I also knew that I wanted to continue singing. Life is short so I decided to continue pursuing both in whatever way made sense. I went on to pursue my doctorate and became a licensed psychologist while also pursuing music and singing. I consider it a real blessing to have been able to meet all the people throughout my journey who made that possible for me including my beautiful family.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No journey is free of obstacles. I definitely had struggles throughout but with the support from others as well as not losing sight of my goals, I was able to continue. I also thank God for helping me through my journey as I have been protected in many many ways. There were moments when I wanted to quit everything but decided that I needed to continue and reminded myself of my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Well I am a singer as well as a licensed psychologist so balancing the two has been an interesting journey to say the least! I have also recently started a YouTube channel where my goal is to bridge the gap between music and mental health and I hope it offers something beneficial to others. I am proud that I never gave up on myself and grateful for all the people in my life who have mentored, supported and shown me unconditional love as I have gone through and continue to go through this journey.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Reflect about your purpose and your goals. Why do you want to pursue the thing you are pursuing? Who is it serving? I think it is important to know your “why” when pursuing your goals, no matter creative or not.

Find people in your life who unconditionally support you and lean on them as well as pour into others. There is room for everyone at the table. The only competition is with yourself.
