Hi, my name is Yatti, and I’m the founder of Mor.

Having lived across different countries, I’ve seen how culture can travel with you—through the holidays you celebrate, the food you share, and the way you make people feel at home.
Growing up, our South Asian traditions gave me such a deep sense of warmth and connection. And when I became a mom, I began thinking even more about the traditions I wanted to pass on to my children.

Right before my firstborn’s second birthday, I created the first Diwali Countdown Calendar—a way to build excitement and make each day of Diwali feel special yet educational.

That idea became Mor.

Today, Mor thoughtfully creates and curates pieces that celebrate our heritage while fitting beautifully into the way we live today. From meaningful gifts, elevated packaging, and cards that reflect the richness of our celebrations, every detail is intentional. I believe gifting should feel just as special for the person giving it as it does for the person receiving it. Mor is about celebrating where we came from, sharing it with people we love, and carrying those traditions forward wherever in the world we call home.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small businesses, we’ve had to navigate constant changes, from tariffs and rising shipping costs to the uncertainty created by global events. Keeping our products accessible and our pricing reasonable while maintaining the quality our customers expect has been one of the biggest challenges.

At the heart of our business are traditional, handcrafted pieces made by skilled artisans. These are not products you can simply source locally in the U.S.; they carry cultural meaning, craftsmanship, and a story that make each gift feel special. Bringing those pieces to our customers responsibly, while managing the costs and logistics involved, has required a lot of resilience and creativity.

We’ve also faced the challenge of seeing products copied very closely. While that can be discouraging, it has ultimately pushed us to become even clearer about what makes our brand different. Our uniqueness is not just in a single product, it is in our vision, the thoughtfulness behind every curated gift, the relationships with artisans, the presentation, and the experience we create for the recipient.

Most importantly, the customers who believe in our products and support our mission keep us going. Their appreciation for meaningful, handcrafted gifting is a reminder of why we started and why continuing to build this brand is worth every challenge.

Many people in our generation want to stay connected to their culture while creating celebrations that fit their own lives and modern aesthetic.
