Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Bland Thompson.
Hi Paige , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Sure! I grew up in North Metro Atlanta, primarily in the Alpharetta/Milton area, so this community has quite literally been home for practically my whole life (since I was 3 years old). Real estate, construction, and development were also woven into my world long before I realized they would become such a big part of my own story. My dad worked in commercial construction sales and was involved in building a community, and watching the way he worked, served people, and left his mark on this area had a much bigger impact on me than I probably understood at the time. But becoming a REALTOR® wasn’t always the plan.
Before real estate, I spent more than 10+ years in the same career as a high volume bartender. I had built something comfortable, familiar and something I was extremely good at, but eventually I reached a point in my life where I knew I was meant to do something BIGGER. Leaving after that long was terrifying, but I trusted God’s plan for me, I studied like crazy for a whole year, got my real estate license, and basically jumped in with both feet not knowing where any of this would take me. But I never lost faith that it would all come together one way or another.
I initially joined a real estate team because I thought that was what I was “supposed” to do. About 5 months later, I realized pretty quickly that I was meant to build something of my own. Apparently, I’ve never been very good at staying inside someone else’s box anyways. Going independent forced me to figure out what I wanted my business/brand to stand for, and I kept coming back to relationships, education, service, community, and genuinely taking care of people. I never wanted someone to feel like they were just another transaction. There is usually a pretty big life story happening behind buying or selling a home, and I wanted to be the person my clients could lean on through all of it.
Over the years, that leap of faith has turned into a career I’m incredibly proud of. I become a top producing REALTOR® within just a couple years, a mentor to other agents, and stepped into leadership through the Cherokee Association of REALTORS®. Those opportunities have also helped me discover how much I love teaching, giving back, advocating for my clients and our industry, and helping others grow too.
One of my favorite parts of what I’ve built is getting to work alongside my husband. He is a very talented contractor, and together we own a renovation company that works hand in hand with my real estate business. We get to help homeowners make smart improvements that can maximize their equity when it’s time to sell, and help others turn the house they purchased into a home that truly feels like theirs. We joke that we’re a bit of a package deal/power couple, but it is so true.
Then came another chapter I absolutely did NOT have on my bingo card: network marketing. Something I had never done before. I found skincare and wellness products I genuinely loved, started sharing them the same way I share pretty much anything I’m excited about, and eventually realized there was an entire business opportunity sitting right in front of me. What started completely outside my comfort zone has grown into something I’m incredibly passionate about and has allowed me to combine my love of wellness, social media, entrepreneurship, community, passion and helping other women see what might be possible for them too.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped believing success had to fit neatly into one box. I’m a REALTOR®. I own a renovation company with my husband. I’m building a business through social selling. I mentor, teach, create content, serve in leadership, and somehow keep finding new things I want to learn. Sitting still apparently wasn’t ever going to be part of my business plan.
But underneath all of it is the same thing: I genuinely love helping people. I love cheering people on, teaching what I know, connecting them with resources, and getting to be a part of their journey that eventually becomes their story.
I definitely didn’t have any of this mapped out when I took that first leap and changed careers. I just knew I wanted to build a life, a brand and career that meant something, help and impact people along the way, and be brave enough to keep saying yes when the right opportunities came along.
And I have a feeling I’m still somewhere near the beginning of my story.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh gosh, no! I dealt with many obstacles. One of my biggest struggles in the beginning was simply learning to trust myself. I left a career I had been in for more than 10+ years to enter an industry where there was no guaranteed paycheck, no roadmap telling me exactly what to do next, and my success was largely dependent on me. That was exciting, but it was also extremely scary.
Then there was learning that building a business and being good at your job are two completely different things. You can care deeply about people and be great at serving your clients, but you also have to learn marketing, sales, contracts, staying up to date with industry changes, networking, social media, finances, systems, negotiations, leadership, and about 47 other jobs I didn’t realize I signed up for.
I’ve also had to learn how to handle rejection, comparison, deal with self doubt, stay consistent and the seasons when you feel like you’re doing everything you’re supposed to be doing but aren’t seeing the results quick enough. I’m naturally someone who cares deeply and gives a lot of myself to what I do, which can be a strength, but I’ve had to learn that I can’t measure my worth by a closing, an award, how many followers I have, or whether someone chooses to work with me or not.
And then there’s the challenge of having a lot of dreams at the same time. I love real estate. I love our renovation business. I love leadership and mentoring. I’ve fallen in love with social selling and the community I’ve built there. For a while, I think I felt like I needed to pick one lane in order to be taken seriously. I’ve had to learn that being multi passionate isn’t necessarily a weakness. The challenge is learning how to give each thing the attention it deserves without giving every piece of yourself away in the process.
There have absolutely been failures, disappointments, doors that didn’t open, clients I didn’t get, ideas that didn’t work, and plenty of moments where I’ve wondered, “What in the world am I doing?” But some of the biggest growth in my life has come from exactly that. Falling flat on my face. Thats truly the best kind of growth lessons if you ask me.
I’m still learning. I still get things wrong. I still have days when I doubt myself to exhaustion. The difference now is that I don’t automatically take those moments as a sign that I’m on the wrong path. I’ve learned that sometimes they’re just part of building one.
I always focus on this: worst case I learn, best case I change my own freaking life. And when you are scared that is exactly when you jump. One life is all we get and I have absolutely no interest in wasting it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I always joke around that you can’t fit me inside one box because I will claw my way out of it, but the truth is, everything I do is connected by one thing: helping people see what’s possible and giving them the tools, resources, inspiration and encouragement to actually go after it.
Real estate is at the heart of my business. I specialize in residential real estate throughout North Metro Atlanta, particularly helping homeowners who are ready for their next chapter, holding their hand, building trust and over exceeding their expectations. One of the things I’ve become known for is helping sellers look beyond simply putting a sign in the yard. Because my husband is a contractor and we also own a renovation company, I’m able to help clients determine which improvements are actually worth making before they sell, where they’re likely to see a return, and how they can maximize the equity they’ve worked so hard to build. Then I get to help them figure out what comes next without overwhelming them.
I think what sets me apart most, though, is how personal I make the experience. I’m not great at treating anything like “just business.” If you’re my client, I’m invested. I’m going to educate you, tell you the truth even when it isn’t necessarily the easiest answer, connect you with the right people, cheer for you, advocate for you, and check on you long after the closing table. I want people to feel informed and confident, but I also want them to feel genuinely cared for.
My brand has grown beyond real estate, too. Through social media, social selling, and building a personal brand, I’ve built another business centered around skincare, wellness, education, and community. What surprised me most about that journey was how much I fell in love with helping other women build businesses of their own, building an extra stream of income and not missing a beat with their family. I’m a huge believer in sharing what I learn instead of just keeping it to myself. If I figure something out that could make someone else’s path a little easier, or helps them I want to hand it over.
That same mindset has carried into mentoring and teaching other real estate professionals, serving in industry leadership, creating educational and valuable content, and being involved in my local community. I don’t really see those things as separate businesses or versions of myself anymore. They’re all extensions of the same person and the same core values.
Brand wise, that’s probably what I’m most proud of. I’ve built something that actually feels like me. I don’t want people to follow me and feel like they’re constantly being sold something. I want them to learn something, laugh occasionally, discover a new local business, get an honest answer, feel encouraged, or walk away believing they can do something they weren’t quite sure they could do before. Leaving people better than how you found them.
At the end of the day, whether I’m helping someone sell a home, renovate one, build a business, learn something new, or simply make a connection they needed, I want my name to mean the same thing: she always cares, she always shows up, you can fully trust her and she’ll help you figure it out no matter the cost. And that matters more to me than any logo ever could.
What matters most to you?
People. Without question.
The older I get, the more I realize that accomplishments are great, businesses can always grow, awards are exciting, and success can open some pretty incredible doors, but none of it means much to me if I’m not doing something meaningful with it. What matters most to me is making people feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for. I want the people in my life, whether they’re family, friends, clients, other agents, women on my team, or someone who simply follows me on social media, to walk away from an interaction with me feeling a little more confident, encouraged, inspired, fired up, informed, or believed in more than they did before.
I think a lot of that comes from how I was raised. I watched my dad work hard, build relationships, serve people, and leave an impact on the community around him. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that legacy isn’t necessarily about what you build with your name on it. It’s about how people felt because you were here and what you helped make possible for other people.
That has changed the way I define success. Of course I have big goals. I’m competitive, ambitious, and probably always going to be chasing my next idea. But I don’t want to build a successful life that looks great from the outside and forget to actually enjoy it or bring other people along with me.
My family matters deeply to me. My relationships matter. My community matters. Giving back matters. Continuing to learn and grow matters. And using what I’ve learned to make someone else’s road a little easier matters. I want to build businesses I’m proud of, but even more than that, I want to build a life I’m proud of. One where I showed up for people, used my voice for something good, wasn’t afraid to go after big things, and hopefully gave other people a little courage to do the same.
If people remember what I accomplished, that’s wonderful. But if they remember how I made them feel, how I showed up for them, or that I believed in them when they lost all sight, I think that would mean far more to me than any achievement.
