Today we’d like to introduce you to Quaseem Holloway.
Hi Quaseem, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off in Philadelphia after a crazy breakup, I was broke, struggling and borderline homeless. I needed to move back home to Drexel hill after me and my current boyfriend had separated and since he paid all my bills and I didn’t have a good job. I started a long journey of struggling trying to figure it out. I moved back home with my mom and literally tried to make anything work. I ended up going to school to be a CNA, desperately trying to find a lucrative career and eventually fell in love with healthcare meeting and bonding with patients that couldn’t care for themselves. Realizing that being a CNA wasn’t all I wanted to do, knowing I wanted to be more I randomly applied to a nursing school called south college based in buckhead Atlanta , immediately the next week I got accepted into the summer cohort. That started the next month. I immediately applied for an apartment in packed up everything I had on a hope and a dream and moved to Atlanta completely by myself. No job no nothing. All I knew is that I got into nursing school. I studied hard, almost lost my apartments almost lost my cars. Having to decide if I was gonna eat or put gas in my car to make it to school or work. For an entire 14 months I had to wake up at 3:30am, work from 4am-4pm then go to school from 4:30pm-10pm then do it all over again the next day for 14 months on top of clinicals and everything else that was going on in my life.
After graduation I got a 6 figure job and my life changed. I started doing content, I started vlogging, I started showing who I was on social media, even through the pain, I still showed the world what it looked like to struggle and still make it work! Then my
Content turned into me teaching the younger nursing community how not to make the same mistakes I did. My following went from 4k followers when I first moved to Atlanta to totaling over 20k on most platforms! TikTok ranging from 30k followers and instagram trailing behind @20.4k and continuing to grow thousand after thousand each month as people watch me grow and still spill all the tips and tricks to growing their platforms & making 6 figures as a nurse.
I also became very known in “Ballroom” Im mostly known as the the 2X $500 BUTCHQUEEN Face Atlanta Mother Trophy Juicy co. I have beaten the unbeatable & I’ve won over 9 trophies in the last 12 months. I have won over $1400 in grand prizes from 6 different states and I’m still going!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Going homeless, almost getting car repoed, almost getting evicted, loosing friends & relationships. Not making enough money to survive.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Nurse, I specialize in Geriatric care; hospice care, HIV/AID’s care, dialysis care
People know me mostly from nursing , they know me for dropping gems for new nurses, they know me for telling them how to get out the struggle or how to get out the hood of being a new nurse and having to be broke while doing it!
People also know me from being with my bestfriends Koot, Astro & jayychii. We’ve went viral on multiple platforms for Vlogging our everyday lives and making people laugh!
I’m most proud of my consistency and growth. I stayed true to myself and stayed organic!
I’m different than all other creators because my life on instagram is my REAL life. I’ve realized a lot of creators turn thier switch on & off
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’m definitely a risk taker. Money don’t come without some level of risk.
Moving to Atlanta with no family was my first and biggest risk on a hope and dream. Now I’m more than stable and able to live a life that I’ve dreamed and prayed for!
