Conversations with Doghouse Murder Mystery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doghouse Murder Mystery.

Hi Doghouse Murder Mystery, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Doghouse Murder Mystery grew out of a shared desire between co-founders JT Sparks and Mike Parker to create something that brought people together while doing some good along the way.

We came to the idea from very different backgrounds. JT spent years working in ecological field research and later taught high school science before turning his lifelong love of art, entertainment, and community-building toward entrepreneurship. Mike is a military veteran, entrepreneur, and lifelong dreamer with a passion for taking bold ideas and turning them into memorable experiences.

Doghouse became a way to bring all of those pieces together. We wanted to create an immersive dinner theater experience that was funny, interactive, and genuinely different from a typical night out, while also building a business with a larger purpose. As lifelong dog lovers, supporting animal rescue became a natural part of that mission, with $1 from every ticket sold going to local rescue organizations. In many ways, Doghouse is the intersection of the things we care about most: storytelling, creativity, community, and dogs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting any new business will always have its hurdles, but the Brookhaven community has welcomed us with remarkable excitement and support.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
From music to creative writing; from to carpentry to digital media; from to science, to organizing pop-culture conventions, we bring to the table a wide assortment of unique creative experiences and problem-solving skills. We have not yet encountered an issue that we couldn’t transform into an opportunity to create something exciting and memorable.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
There is no such thing as “too much preparation,” but at some point, you just have to take the leap.
