I have always had a passion for art ever since I was a young girl. I was always able to pick up on learning things quickly. In the 10th grade, my family and I were headed on a long road trip so before we left I decided that I would try my hand at crocheting. I never tried it before nor had anyone taught me, however, by the time we finished our 10-hour voyage, I had made a full beanie. Though it was oddly shaped I was proud of my work. From then I had started making a couple here and there for fun. I would wear them out and one day one of my friends asked me if they could purchase one. Up to that point, I had not thought about selling any, but after my first sale, I decided to post on my facebook that I sell these crocheted beanies and from there the clients came! I have worked as a vendor at many different events promoted and selling my products. I now make bleached and tie-dyed hats, shirts, custom graphic tees, jewel, and scarves. But I have many more ideas in the making. This is only the beginning. Read More>>

We started as a small startup almost three years ago with a belief that we could change the way businesses utilize creative services. It’s commonplace to talk about forming partnerships with clients, but in reality, it’s extremely difficult to truly learn their goals and the hurdles they face when you’re juggling a dozen different clients. Instead, we choose to focus on key clients and dedicated teams that get in and really understand their business and market. It’s because of that dedication that we’ve been fortunate to work with and become trusted advisors to some of the leading companies in Georgia. Read More>>

My career in training began in 2002 when I moved to Los Angeles from small town Ohio and immediately started a career in personal training. Fitness was always a part of my life since I began playing multiple sports at a young age. Adapting to training others came naturally to me and I quickly moved up the ranks for the corporate chain that I worked for and in 2006 I was promoted to Regional Director of Fitness and transferred to Atlanta to run the southeast market. I continued to do that for the next 3 years and during this time I came to the realization that I eventually wanted to do my own thing and help others without being under the restrictions of a corporate umbrella. Well long story short, I decided in the ninth grade that I was going to study Graphic Design in college. I had realized that the Lord had gifted me with a talent and I began to work and practice after that. Several years later we end up here. Lots of ups and downs – and most importantly; lots of lessons learned. One of the biggest lessons was to just try. You’ll never become great at anything if you don’t exert the effort Read More>>

Rachel Goldberg (my business partner) and I both have a background in psychology (social worker and licensed professional counselor). We loved our jobs, but we wanted more. A place to be able to connect the psychology to physicality. We had a vision to create a heated yoga studio in east cobb. We opened our doors in August 2014. We have grown from having very few people in our classes, to filling many. Our mission is for people to leave class empowered in their practice as well as their life. We believe in using the Baptiste methodology. We believe in our teachers and our community. We pride ourselves on knowing as many people’s names and stories when they walk into our door (we are a little like Cheers in that respect). Rachel and I have always wanted to share our vision with more areas than just Marietta, so we are in the process of opening a second studio in the Druid hills area- emory point. We are scheduled to open early 2017. We are also working on expanding the scope of our business by adding nutritional consulting (we are both in the process of getting certified). Read More>>

I’m a midwest transplant that moved here for college. I’ve always been a free spirited, art-lover that enjoyed beauty and fashion. While working in corporate America, I traveled a lot on my job. I was young and single and took lots of trips with friends and became the “designated makeup artist” on each trip. That’s when I started falling in love with makeup. I started doing makeup out of passion, and then that passion turned into profit. I soon was doing bridal makeup, working in tv/film, and with commercial companies. I took a leap of faith years later, and left my corporate job in 2010 and had an “Emancipation of Mimi party”! I enjoyed my freedom as a freelancer and entrepreneur. Then in 2012, I had my son who is the love of my life, and at that point, I knew I needed to change things and have more structure. I also saw an opportunity to have a better place for makeup artists in Atlanta to call home as well as for women in Atlanta to become educated on makeup and also be able to get slammed up by some of the best makeup artists in Atlanta. This is where the idea of my store was birthed. Read More>>

I have been in the hair industry for over 10 years. I was always creative with hair and love making other feel good about themselves. I got into the field a little blind to what this field was going to become. I started as a way to support my child and I and having a very laid back schedule. Being a single mom was hard having a typical 9-5 job but the hair industry has flexible hours. I worked at a chain salon until I felt I was a big fish in a little pond but when I looked into other ponds(salons) I felt like a minnow. I finally took the leap and worked at another salon for a year until I realized how much the salon was holding me back from my potential. In September 2016 I signed my lease and created Ignite Hair Studio. I look back at when I started and how far I have come and blown away because I NEVER imagined I would be where I am today. There are still other aspects of my trade I would love to get into but one step at a time. Read More>>

Ever since I was a young child I was continuously starting my own little businesses and would drive my friends crazy with all of the money making ventures I would enlist them in. My first taste of business came as a preschooler, peddling cups of lemonade in my front yard and throughout my childhood years I started a slew of micro-businesses from a door-to-door car washing service to an annual backyard carnival at my house. By college, I was already well versed in many business concepts and continued to learn many more lessons through the success and ultimate flop of my online body jewelry business. Read More>>

I am a City girl born and raised in Philadelphia. The streets of North Philly are very hard. It was always a struggle for my family growing up. The mentality was not great with a lot of my family, my mother struggled with reading and writing for the majority of her life, due to dropping out of school early to look after her brothers and sisters. She never learned to drive or get a license. My mother did manage to work, make a living for herself save and get married to my father. Finally, we became somewhat middle class with the area we moved on to and material things we could soon afford. Read More>>

We saw the property (an old 1950’s vintage gas station) at auction by the city of Powder Springs. We thought the location in downtown was an ideal investment but we were not at all sure of what to make it into. We started doing demolition inside (it was an old drop ceiling and the walls were a combination of stucco and old paneling. We discovered a gorgeous brick interior with a tongue and groove ceiling. We finally decided to convert it into a small events facility. We tried to keep the interior as original as possible but had to make several changes to satisfy the Fire Marshall. We left the garage overhead doors to accommodate indoor/outdoor parties and events. We added 2 bathrooms and a hardwood floor throughout. We have been open a little over 2 years and are approaching 100 events hosted (showers, birthday parties, weddings, rehearsal dinners, etc.) Read More>>

I am originally from New Jersey. I became a Master Cosmetologist and Wax Artist almost 7 years ago. I am one of the few artists that perform Unisex Full-Body Waxing. I am grateful for all my learning experiences because it has taught me a deeper appreciation and understanding of waxing. I have expressed on many occasions that knowing “HOW” to wax is only one ingredient to a satisfied client. The technique is focusing on my client’s needs and then to apply the system called the “3W’s”: Why does a client want to get waxed? What area on their body does a client want waxed? Read More>>
