Check Out Lakeisha Sherron’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lakeisha Sherron.

Lakeisha Sherron, an East Coast native from Hampton/Newport News, Virginia, enjoys the quality of life and family. Lakeisha has spent 16 years of her career working in the Information Technology field as a Sr Network Administrator working as a contractor for all branches of the military. After spending 10 of the 16 years in the field traveling back and forth abroad to Kuwait and Afghanistan, Lakeisha finally put up her boots, stepped out on faith and one day while at work daydreaming, Lakeisha came up with an idea and decided to put up her boots and pursue her dream by becoming a certified wedding/event planner. After hosting many parties and conducting family and friends events, she moved to Atlanta in 2013 that’s when she stepped out on faith to make her dream a reality while wanting to make others dreams come true. Being the youngest of three girls raised by a single mother, Lakeisha has made a way for herself. Not just as an event planner but also as an actress in the Atlanta area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Moving to a new state without any family or friends upon arriving was hard. It felt alone for the first few months until I gained trust to get out and meet new people. My affiliations with people have grown a lot. Building a business is not easy but staying the course and trusting the process by showing off my skills and investing in myself made a difference. Challenges started when wanting to find the perfect venue to host events of my own. I thought I found a venue but it then got swept under my feet to the highest bidder. But i did not give up and I am a true believer of what’s for you… will be for you.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear a lot of hats. As some would say, I am a “Jill of all Trades”. 🙂 By day, I am an IT Remote Account Manager supporting IT devices across the United States. I am also a Licensed Owner/Creative Director of Belle Amore Events serving the Atlanta area and beyond. I am also an actress known for some award-winning web series such as “Brothahood”, “My Life”, and my very own full feature film that I have written and directed named “A Brother’s Unseen Tears”. Although I specialize in creating memorable weddings, I have experience in planning birthday parties, anniversaries, baby showers, and corporate events. Whether you prefer simple, elegant, private or lavish-boisterous events, Belle Amore Events will strive to deliver complete satisfaction by exceeding expectations. While building the business, Lakeisha found the love of acting.

After being dared by a close friend to try out for an audition for a supporting role, Lakeisha landed the lead role in the stage play called “Love’s Last Episode” as Fandaci. Since, Lakeisha has been seen in an award-winning web series named Brothahood and My Life, just to name a few. For the love of acting, Lakeisha also gained the interest in working behind the scenes, which encourage her to write and direct her first full feature name “A Brother’s Unseen Tears” and a sitcom named “Raising Kane”. (Both can be found of Vimeo) I am most proud of all my accomplishments which led me here today. Most people dream of the things they want but I turned my dreams into my own reality. Was it easy? No, but I believe if you have a true passion of something you really want to do, then go for it. I would never want to be that one that said, “I wish I had”. My advice is the STAY THE COURSE and NEVER GIVE UP. What sets me apart from others is that I am a believer of all powers, including my own. Not just working a 9 to 5 while working towards building an empire with the help of my team, I was able to be creative and produce good content in the film industry.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Unfortunately, Covid-19 happened, which caused a lot of lives and halted a lot of small businesses. I lost a lot of business due to Covid 19, which did not allow gatherings of more than ten people, which caused a lot of weddings and events to not happen that were already planned prior to the pandemic. During this time, I was able to sit back and plan for my future in the business and prepare myself financially just in case this happens again. The locked-down was necessary and I took full advantage of the time. We as people in general, always complain that there is not enough hours in a day to get things accomplished. Now that we received that time, I took advantage and began writing a new full feature film name “Imperfection” (title subject to change) and learn new skills for my Event business. I also learned how to appreciate and love myself and my family more. Time is of the essence and we much treasure every moment. The Covid crisis also allows me to reflect on life and inspire me to do better emotionally, spiritually, productively financially.
