Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Wolf
Hi Courtney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Phew, well, where do you want me to begin? I grew up in a military family, so I’ve lived all over the United States. I split highschool between California (shout out to the 805!) and Nebraska, where I graduated. I then went on to earn two degrees from Auburn University (War Eagle!) – a Bachelor’s in Marketing and International Business as well as my MBA. I spent a decade in corporate America working in sales for two very well respected Fortune 500 companies, where I was top 1% of the sales force in both organizations. Having been voted “Most Likely To Be My Own Boss” in high school though, I ultimately got the entrepreurial urge and in 2017 left my full time sales career to pursue wedding planning. I had joined forces with Julie Bunkley, Owner and Creative Director of Invision Events in 2012, so by 2017 I knew we could make it a real/legit partnership and not just me side hustling and moon lighting. And we did. We went on to receive local, regional and national recognition, producing nearly 200 events in our tenure together. In 2020 I pivoted again and together with Julie and a planner friend of ours based in Dallas, Wendy Kay, founded Educate | Empower | Encourage, the OG and leader in transformative luxury wedding business education. In addition to running E3 (as it’s affectionately known) I also now coach and consult with creative entreprenuers of all kinds under my own name and brand. From interior designers, landscape architects, cermacists to photographers, stationers, planners as well as boutique and salon owners. I’m beyond thankful and grateful to wake up everyday and live and breathe from my Zone of Genius. My gift is empowering others to walk fully in theirs and it never gets old. Essentially, I idenify your blind spots so you can boldly step into your fullest self. It’s truly thrilling and luckily, my clients agree!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m definitely “the glass is half full” kind of a gal. And while there are always bumps, hiccups and detours along the way, I find that anything worth having is worth working for. Years ago, I was in full on grind mode – working 60-80 hours a week to make things happen. I’ve put in the work – blood, sweat and tears – and now enjoy a much more sustainable pace of no more than 2-4 hours a day. I prefer to reframe a struggle as a challenge and I have ALWAYS been up for a challenge (and still am today – say I won’t, ha!). The worst culprits throughout the journey have been not having enough resources – whether it’s time, capital, team members and even sheer knowledge of what I’m getting myself into. Thankfully though, its through these challenges that we can dig in and show off our scrappy and savvy selves. It’s worked every time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently, as a founder of Educate | Empower | Encourage I oversee all operations of the brand, manage our two assistants that help us run the community and take the lead with our integrator agency and ads team that help us make our digital landscape possible. I also produce our actual content and trainings alongside Julie and Wendy, as well as our quarterly members only social events.
Under my own brand and name, I help creative small business owners build sustainable and thriving brands by bolding stepping into the fullest version of themselves.
I’m known for my warm, infectious “contagious confidence” energy and my tell-it-like-it-is no-fluff allowed approach. Like, I’ll be your biggest cheerleader and make you part of the “get it done!” crew – and FAST!
I believe when you change your business, you change your life and I’m most proud of the impact my work has had on so many creative women, specifically. To own their voices, their gifts and come into who they are at a core being level and then show up and live their best lives as their boldest selves.
What sets me apart is my heart as well as my own smarty pants. I genuinely care about my clients, my work and my mission. And while I don’t take myself too seriously, I definitely take my clients and work VERY seriously – I am an energy, strategy and money mindset maven who is a whiz with words and a marketing and sales genius. I’m the perfect fit for creative entreprenuers who are passionate about their craft and want to learn how to take care of business (both strategically and energetically), a skillset I find most creatives are lacking and/or are generally clueless about.
Also, I have a saying – “If you want to make lots of money, come sit by me.” And it’s true. I’ve helped banish the stigma of being a “starving artist” and regularly help my clients go from six figures to multi six figures and beyond. Many of my clients went from barely paying themselves a salary to earning tens of thousands of dollars each month. I believe good people do good things with money and it’s a mission of mine to get money circulating in more women’s hands. Nothing bad happens when women make more!
What does success mean to you?
Freedom. That I can do what I want to do, how I want to do it, when I want to do it, where I want to do it, with who I want to do it. Simply because I can. I’ve built my business to support my lifestyle, not the other way around. Of course success is so personal to each of us, but for me, right now, it’s being able to come and go as I please and live a full and meaningful life – paying special attention to the little things while also enjoying the big things. For example, everyday I get to spend time pouring into myself by sleeping in (I get up around 7am), attending an OrangeTheory workout (shout out to the BEAST Cobb crew!) and then a session at Perspire Sauna Studio. I then get to pour into my work and my clients for a few hours. In addition to both of those, I get to spend quality time each day with my husband, Greg and our 3 year old son, William. I’m embracing a slower pace and it’s seriously so freeing. This is success. This is it!
