Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Elisabeth.
Denise , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I didn’t wait for the “perfect moment” to become a fashion stylist, I created one.
A few months before graduating college, while the world was shutting down during COVID-19, I decided I wasn’t going to sit still and hope opportunity would find me. Every single day, I sent emails. Cold emails, follow-ups, introductions, anything to get my name in rooms I hadn’t stepped into yet. Most went unanswered. Some got a no. But I never stopped.
Then one yes changed everything.
My first real client was a woman connected to the music world, a DJ working closely with Jack Harlow while he was on tour. That moment felt surreal, but I treated it like the beginning, not the peak. I showed up prepared, intentional, and creatively sharp. I knew this wasn’t luck, it was the result of persistence meeting opportunity.
From there, things didn’t magically become easy, but they became possible.
I kept going. Kept refining my eye. Kept building relationships. And over time, that same determination opened doors to working with celebrities and influential creatives across the industry. Each client, each look, each moment was built on the same foundation: consistency, resilience, and a deep understanding of style as storytelling.
I’ve never been someone who gives up. If anything, I push harder when things feel uncertain. Because I know what’s on the other side of persistence and I’ve already lived it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a fashion stylist hasn’t been a straight path, it’s been layered, unpredictable, and, at times, heavy.
There are moments when the creative space feels less like collaboration and more like quiet competition. Everyone is building, everyone is watching, and not everyone is willing to share the room. I’ve had seasons where I knew my work, my clientele, and my consistency spoke for itself, yet breaking into larger agencies still felt just out of reach. It’s a strange place to be: doing big work, with real clients, but still having to prove you belong in certain spaces.
At the same time, I’ve seen how this industry can undervalue creatives. There are countless people asking for assistants and interns, offering “experience” instead of pay. And while I understand the importance of learning, I also understand the value of time, energy, and skill. That tension is real, but it’s also pushed me to stay grounded in my worth while still remaining open.
Because the truth is, I want to keep learning. I’m not above being mentored. I’ll step into a room with a bigger stylist or any stylist, with humility if it means I can grow. I don’t ever want to reach a point where I feel like I know everything. This craft is always evolving, and so am I.
And then there are the day-to-day realities people don’t always see. Clients who go quiet when timelines matter. Pieces that aren’t returned on time, leaving my card at risk. The constant balancing act of creativity and logistics. Styling isn’t just putting together looks…it’s managing trust, communication, and responsibility in real time.
Building genuine relationships with clients takes patience. It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built in honest conversations, in those unfiltered moments between fittings, on set, or even just sitting across from each other at dinner. It’s about understanding them beyond the clothes, how they want to feel, how they want to be seen.
None of it has been perfect. But every challenge has shaped me into a stylist who is not only creative, but resilient, aware, and always evolving. And no matter what, I’m not stopping.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in building intentional, elevated looks that tell a story. My work lives at the intersection of personal style and visual impact. I don’t just dress clients, I help them step into a version of themselves that feels both authentic and elevated. I’m known for my creative eye, my attention to detail, and my ability to push clients beyond what they think works for them into something even better.
What I’m most proud of is how my career has grown through consistency and trust. One of my proudest moments was working with Savannah Chrisley as a client. I’ve always admired her resilience and honesty, so being trusted to style her was incredibly meaningful. I had the opportunity to travel to New York with her and style her for The View, which was a full-circle moment for me. It’s always been a dream to have a client I could travel with for work, while also seeing my styling showcased on such a broad platform.
What sets me apart is how I approach my clients…with both honesty and intention. I’m very direct about what works: which silhouettes flatter them best, what cuts elevate their look, and how color can completely shift their presence. I push my clients creatively, often introducing them to styles they wouldn’t have chosen on their own, but end up loving.
At the same time, I lead with understanding. I take the time to learn who they are beyond the clothes, their lifestyle, their comfort zones, their personal story. There’s an emotional awareness in how I work. I respect their boundaries, but I also create a space where they feel safe to evolve. That balance of candor and care is what allows me to not only style my clients, but genuinely transform how they see themselves, making them feel more confident than they ever have before.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My success is rooted in discipline, resilience, and a strong intuitive understanding of people.
From 2020-2025, I’ve worked seven days a week, often balancing three to four roles at once on minimal sleep. That consistency has strengthened my work ethic and sharpened my focus. Working in a luxury fashion store has allowed me to style high-level clients and build meaningful industry relationships, while also continuing to expand both my experience and network.
My days are structured around intention. I source pieces with specific clients in mind, style them for their needs, then transition directly into my own business, whether that’s refining my portfolio or heading to set for fittings, shoots, or tour prep. I’m most fulfilled when I see my work translated on camera or on stage.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance honesty with awareness. I approach styling as a long-term relationship, not a transaction. Trust is built through consistency, clarity, and understanding. That foundation, paired with a focused work ethic and creative precision, defines how I operate and why my clients continue to return.
