Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacoby Antonio Browder. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Jacoby Antonio Browder, better known as Jacoby X, is a musical artist, entrepreneur, and educator from Birmingham, Alabama whose passion for literature and working with children with special needs led him to authoring his first book. ‘The Words I Speak I See’ is a story of a troubled young boy who battles with finding his purpose in the world and the transformation that comes with realizing he’s in more control than he thought. As a mental health advocate, Jacoby wanted to change the stigma around mental illness, especially when it comes to the youth. His book aims to show what can happen when a person realizes that the words they speak can have an impact on the reality around them. For the protagonist of the story, he had to combat his yearning for love and understanding from those around him to loving and understanding himself and Jacoby hopes that readers can come to a similar conclusion of knowing they possess what is needed to live the life they want.

Jacoby X’s grandmother was an early inspiration in him becoming an author as she often had him and his cousins read and write book reports. She even gave him bigger confirmation to write his book by sharing a message from God that he needed to take his own words seriously and from that point, he started to write what would be ‘The Words I Speak I See’. His efforts are going beyond just writing the book as he plans to provide a portion of his proceeds to mental health and autism programs in hopes to provide more resources for their social and educational needs. His goal is to make mental health awareness more of a priority in the world and less taboo to discuss as many people deal with their own emotional struggles just like the character in the book.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a great journey but there were definitely obstacles in my way. As it pertains to music, I have been pursuing that since 2013 and I have been rejected and told no so many times even with having great talent and ability also with dealing with music and my new book, I was fired from my previous teaching position and had to return home from Atlanta because of the pressures of not having steady income while having a newborn and once Covid hit it kept Me out of work for seven months which caused me to become deeply depressed with myself and started to question my purpose in this world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an entrepreneur, educator, artist, entertainer, and author. I have my own inflatable business called Artist For Autism Inflatables LLC where we provide inflatables and other party equipment to rent. We correlate autism with that because I am a teacher for autistic kids and we use some of our proceeds to help fund resources for schools and programs that have kids with autism to help progress their educational and social skills. As stated earlier, I am an educator for kids with autism and have been working with them for almost four years. I am also an artist where I have been doing music since 2013. I rap, sing and write all my music. I have opened up for 2chainz, Lil baby, migos, Trina, I have also had the pleasure for performing for legendary actor Isaiah Washington I have been featured on ihearr radio, these urban times, thisis50, and also dirty glove bastards I have three albums on all platforms called “Fake Vibes” “Restoration” and “Unapologetically Me” and now I’m a new author wherein wrote my first book entitled “The Words I Speak, I See” a story of a troubled young boy who battles with finding his purpose in the world and the transformation that comes with realizing he’s in more control than he thought.

Fulfilling my purpose, seeing my son smile, and saving my people.
