Check Out Jessica Rodriguez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rodriguez

Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“My name is Jessica Rodríguez, I am from Colombia and I arrived in Atlanta in 2020. I am a proud Latina, during my stay in the United States I have always wanted to embark and show my skills to new people who come into my life. I have a blog where I talk about my life and my stories, the goal of this blog is always to be able to share my experience and for people to feel identified, feel that they are not alone and that they are not the only ones going through certain things. My focus is to show that I have also had mental illnesses and to make people feel accompanied especially when migration takes over. When one is an immigrant, they face things they never faced before in pursuit of a dream.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Migrating is always difficult; it brings with it mental illnesses, loneliness. Starting life anew in a country where everything is different brings thousands of obstacles. But when one has clear dreams, they find many ways to achieve them. The United States has brought me new friends, new goals, new opportunities.”

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
“I currently work as a nanny and dedicate myself to social media. I have a blog where I share my life stories and experiences. Thanks to my social media and my blog, I’ve been able to reach people who thank me for sharing because they feel identified and not judged. Through my blog, many people write to me saying they thought they were the only ones suffering from x disease or anxiety. My goal is for people to not feel alone and to know that there will always be someone who has been through it before.”

What’s next?
“My future plan is to continue growing on social media, to reach more people and make them feel they are not alone, to grow and help the Latino community.”
