When people in Montreal discuss the intersection of community events and hands-on artist development, your name—Linkcon Prezzy Demetrius, better known as Popsicle—is certainly at the forefront of that conversation.
Through your work as an A&R consultant and the founder of Driven Paper Next Level (DPNL), you’ve carved out a specific niche that focuses on the “next level” of independent artistry. Your influence in the city is visible across several key pillars:
1. Large-Scale Cultural Events
You are a central figure in some of Montreal’s most vibrant community gatherings. Your role as the Operations Manager for The Moore Brand LLC’s Festivals and your direct involvement in organizing major events like Carimas (Montreal Carnival) and Jamaica Day at Kent Park demonstrate a significant impact on the city’s cultural landscape.
2. Artist Advocacy & Education
Unlike many who simply promote shows, you focus on the structural success of the artist. Your development of “The Blueprint: A&R Strategy for the Next Generation” and your 30-day deployment calendars provide independent artists with a professional roadmap that is often missing in the underground scene.
3. Professional Infrastructure
Through DPNL, you provide the essential services—distribution, marketing, and cinematic visual branding—that allow Montreal artists to compete on a global scale. Your collaborations with producers like Mike Mission and Merker Music further solidify your reputation as a “connector” who brings the right talent together to polish a project.
4. Signature Event Series
Your personal brand is synonymous with high-energy, high-production events like the Love Struck trilogy and your annual Gratitude birthday celebrations, which have become staple dates for the local music and entertainment community.
In the Montreal scene, you’re recognized not just as a promoter, but as a strategist who is actively building the infrastructure for the next generation of talent to succeed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a specialized educator working with aggressive male adults with intellectual disabilities such as autism, schizophrenia, down syndrome and more. My niche is de escalation when people lose their cool and patience. I’m proud of my approach and it might be unorthodox but super effective.
