Check Out Nick Snow’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Snow.

Hi Nick, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Absolutely! Music has always been the one constant in my life. It’s not just something I do, it’s who I am. I know nothing else except the feeling that overcomes me when a song is sung, or the joy that is coaxed by the combination of instruments telling a story only music can convey. As I think about it, I really can’t remember a time when I wasn’t humming a melody, writing lyrics, or getting lost in the emotion of a song. As a kid, I realized that music, writing music, and poetry were the languages I could use to understand the world. Ultimately, it became how I expressed myself anytime the words fell short.

As a self-proclaimed “church boy”, I grew up watching my dad serve in ministry, and my mom sang in a couple of gospel choirs. So, church is where I learned the power of music, emotion, and storytelling. That foundation led me into classical training, then later into pop and rock influences. Each stage of my journey added another layer to my sound. I’ve been incredibly blessed to perform in choirs, small ensembles, and with bands. Always seeking out new ways to stretch my voice and my creativity.

Over time, I believe that I have developed a style that feels true to me, a blend of gospel, classical, rock, and pop, or what I like to now call my unique trifecta of soul, grit, and vulnerability. Know that my writing is deeply personal; it is all rooted in my real experiences. I desire to create music that not only moves people but also helps them feel seen and understood.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! It has been anything but smooth. This music journey has been shaped by a constant tension between passion and invisibility, and it’s been marked with so many feelings of rejection and criticism. I’ve poured my heart, time, and talent into this craft, only to be met, more often than not, with a silence that can sometimes feel unsupportive. I believe that as human beings, there’s a particular kind of ache that comes from when you fully show up and share your soul, only to have moments of feeling unseen. Believe it or not, that ongoing experience taught me something beautiful: God doesn’t waste the hidden seasons. When no one is watching, the brightest stars will still flicker and burn. Their flame is just as bright, even if no one gives them applause, the stars will still do what they have been created to do.

So yeah, there have been moments when I felt like the world just wasn’t ready for the fullness of Nick Snow. But at 20 years old, I’ve got my voice, and I have just stopped waiting for permission and acceptance from others. So as the saying goes, “ready or not, here I come”.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Black, male artist based in Nashville, Tennessee, but I was born south of Atlanta. I create a sound that I call Rock & Soul Revival. It’s a collision of rock, pop, gospel, and raw emotion. Let me give you more of a visual: think about hearing electric guitars, soul-stirring vocals with lyrics that cut deep. Now add a spiritual edge that makes you feel like you’re in a vibrant, energetic church and a concert at the same time. That is Rock & Soul Revival.

My music is for the feelers, the dreamers, escapists, and for the ones who carry big emotions but even bigger dreams. It’s for those who’ve been overlooked, rejected, criticized, or misunderstood but still showed up with fire in their heart and bass in their voice. I write and sing for the outsiders, the misfits, the ones who’ve been told they’re just too much. That is what I am most proud of.

What sets me apart is that I’m not chasing trends. Being honest, there are times that I want to chase the trends, but I am learning that it’s more important for me to chase my truth. Every note, every lyric, every performance is rooted in something authentic. I’m proud that I’ve stayed true to myself in a world that often rewards the copy-paste version. I believe that everyone in this world has a fire in their soul about something they are passionate about. So I am learning to stop shrinking and to start shining, and I hope the messages of my music help others do the same.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my childhood memories is probably before I even knew how to spell my name. I am sitting in front of this little toy keyboard. Yeah, I had other toys, but that one keyboard was everything to me.

At that time, I didn’t know anything about music theory, nothing about chords, keys, or scales. I just felt something every time I pressed a key. I am sure I drove my parents crazy, even though they never complained. The sounds I made with that toy keyboard were random and messy, but it felt like magic to me. That was when I realized that I could create something out of nothing, and that sound had the power to shift how I felt inside.

As an only child, that keyboard became my companion. My safe place. My first stage, and in a way, I think that’s where the spark started for me. Even now, I experience that same feeling every time I make music.
