Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Kingston.
Samuel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a love for art and design. I started exploring art and design during Middle School. I later began expanding my artistic ability by designing for family and friends in my local area. With inspiration from my art teachers, I began to blossom in the arts, especially in Graphic Design. In March of 2017, I decided to create my own organization for Graphic/Web Design named Kingston’s Creative Studio. Kingston’s Creative Studio (formerly known as Kingston’s Designs) has had the privilege of having the designs seen all over the world. I have a great love for designing. I firmly believe in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” I’m truly grateful for this platform to be able to share and empower people to become all that they can be. Stay TRUE TO YOU, and everything else will follow.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. My mother passed right before I started the business. I literally started with no money, an iPad and a dream. With both of my parents deceased (Dad – April 2005) (Mom – March 2017), I still decided to start the business. Four years later, through loss, sickness, and frustration, I’ve managed to create something to help people to get to where they’re destined to be.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I provide services to clients in need of graphics, illustrations, printing, web development, videography and marketing strategies. I’m proud of being able to create logos and give someone a direction of where to go when they’re starting out with nothing.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned that self-care and mental health are so important for creatives. That when we as creatives are stressed, we’re not our best and are not maximizing our creative ability. We, as creatives, have to understand that we’re not robots.
