Check Out Tonya Williams’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonya Williams.

Hi Tonya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started going to ministry school at Highlands College in 2017. While attending, I knew God was calling me to reach people outside four walls. I noticed I’m always drawn to people in places most church people wouldn’t go to. People will share their stories with me but when the conversation changed to what do I do, I would find they would pull away.

During halfway through, God started speaking to me about Life Coaching. I had never even heard of a life coach or what it was. As I began to research, I realized this is a way I can reach people on a level where they don’t feel judged but also apply that biblical principle to their lives. I got my life coaching certification and helping people become the best version of themselves ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not at all been smooth. Like most women, I like to be in control and have a plan A, B and C. I struggled with fully trusting God with my purpose despite what I have been taught. I was weary of letting go and let God have full control of my life because I had no clue of what the outcome would be. I didn’t realize by giving it to God and taking it back only delayed my process. Since I’ve learned over time to fully surrender it all to Him, he has been faithful in his word.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been in the finance industry for over 20+ years. While this is my full-time position, I have the opportunity to be the light in corporate America. With my background in life coaching, speaking, podcasting and ministry, God is able to use me in the corporate world as well. I believe ministry moments are everywhere, we just have to be intentional in creating them.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
It’s never too late to start something new. No matter how ok’d you are you can always create the life you desire! The best investment you’ll ever make is in yourself because you’ll always get a return. It took me a lot of years to unlearn that my life circumstances didn’t define who I was. Now that I not only know who I am but Who I am, I know there’s not anything I can’t do. The only person that is stopping you is you. With every day that goes by you can either 1) wish you would have started or 2) be thankful you did and look back and be grateful on how far you’ve come. He created us all to be unique in our own way, so make a decision to do what makes you the best version of yourself daily!
