Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Ward

Hi Alex , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in North Georgia, I entered the real estate world at just 19 years old. My journey began during one of the most exciting times in my life—buying my first home. My agent saw potential in me and offered me a position as their assistant. That opportunity sparked a passion for real estate that has only grown stronger over the years.

Over the decade, I gained invaluable experience managing offices and navigating transactions, but I eventually realized I didn’t want to be just a transactional agent. I wanted to create meaningful experiences and add value to every interaction. Real estate, for me, is a way to connect with others and build community—something that has always been my personal mission. After this decade of growth and learning, Ward Properties was born, representing my vision to lead with purpose and create a business centered on people and relationships.

Throughout this journey, my husband has been my greatest source of encouragement. His unwavering support inspired me to push forward, and before long, he joined the real estate industry as well. Today, he plays a vital role in our business, fostering client relationships and managing the home renovation side of our work. Together, we bring a unique perspective to the real estate experience, combining my expertise in transactions with his hands-on approach to transforming spaces.

Every day, I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve my clients and contribute to the community I’ve always called home. Real estate isn’t just a job for me—it’s a way to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been easy. Starting a career in real estate at just 19 years old came with its own set of challenges, especially when it came to earning the trust of seasoned buyers. When you’re young, it’s hard to convince wise investment buyers to trust your expertise, no matter how passionate or prepared you are.

In an industry that’s so money-driven, it was a challenge—but also a fun one—to think outside the box and reinvent the wheel. I had to ask myself what kind of agent I wanted to be and, later, what kind of brokerage I wanted to build. That reflection led me to focus on the person I wanted to become, which has shaped everything I do in real estate. I’ve been especially inspired by Patrick Lencioni’s teachings on being humble, hungry, and smart—qualities that guide me in my career and in how I’ve built my brokerage.

The real estate industry is consistently evolving, with more agents entering the field, growing pressure on commission structures, and an ever-increasing focus on legal complexities. Over the next five years, I believe the industry will center on adding value. At Ward Properties, we are dedicated to standing out as a next-level company by constantly improving and finding innovative ways to serve our clients.
