Conversations with Bre’Ana Simone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bre’Ana Simone.

Hi Bre’Ana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an Entrepreneur, Fashion Designer/Buyer, Actress, and Creative Director. I am the Founder and CEO of Millennia Mogul Fashion & Lifestyle as well as Mogul TV Network. I am originally from Pontiac, MI where my story first begins. I’ve had a big, vibrant personality my entire life and always knew I wanted to be on TV. I decided to study Broadcast Journalism at Grand Valley State University and it was there that I developed a love for storytelling. I thought I wanted to start a career in News. I wanted to be a News Anchor/Reporter. But, thank God for internships. Because through my many different internships at various news stations, I quickly realized that wasn’t the route I wanted to take.

During my sophomore year, I started my own radio show on campus and I used this platform to discuss and shed light on campus leaders, current events, and local news. However, I knew eventually I would graduate and no longer have this platform but I didn’t want that to stop my storytelling or my community I had built. So, I created my own brand and business called F3 with Bre’Ana Simone (now known as Mogul TV Network); where my mission was to showcase success and positivity in the community. I covered community events, red carpets and interviewed community leaders all over Metro Detroit. During my two seasons of my talk show, I had the pleasure of interviewing some amazing professionals and business leaders. It inspired me to further my education and obtain a Master’s Degree in Business Entrepreneurship.

While studying to become a Master of Entrepreneurship, I landed a role in my first movie without any acting experience, but just by being myself. This peeked my interest in learning how to use my creative storytelling in a different way. So, in 2017 I decided I wanted to move to Atlanta, GA to pursue my career in TV/Film and Fashion. I began training and taking acting classes and trying to make my way in this brand new city. I quickly found a media personality and acting community where I networked like crazy. I was off to a great start and then life started doing its thing and I had to focus on getting a job. I couldn’t find a job in my field and end up working in sales. I was actually really good at the job and got promoted a few times and realized two years had gone by and I wasn’t doing what I came here to do. I started back applying for jobs in my field and was still having trouble landing anything.

I started researching, learning, and enrolled myself in a Fashion Program so I could learn more about the Fashion Industry and creating my own Fashion Empire. And this is where my business Millennia Mogul Fashion & Lifestyle was born. I wanted to create a brand for the modern chic boss that makes her feel good and look good while she is making mogul moves. I launched Millennia Mogul September 13, 2019.

By the grace of God, I was laid off from my corporate job during the pandemic and it was the biggest blessing. It allowed me to become a full-time entrepreneur and gave me more time to use my creativity and begin acting training again. I worked hard to obtain representation and landed an agent in the Southeast as well as an agent in NY and LA. Which has played a major role in my success as an overall talent. I try to be a sponge on each set I am on to learn as much as I can in front and behind the camera. Last year, I received my first Directing Credit on a Feature Film and I enjoyed being behind the camera so much.

I use my platform to impact, inspire, and influence Millennials worldwide to walk in their Mogul Authority! Amongst all of the other things I do, I truly enjoy giving back and mentoring young boys and girls. I’m the current Program Director and Coordinator for the Entertainment Industry Club of The Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan. Where I am teaching them the Entertainment Industry with hands on experience while giving them an opportunity to connect with Industry Professionals. The last cohort created a short film centered around Diversity.

My love for storytelling runs deep and I will continue to tell stories through Fashion, TV and Film. I recently landed my first role that was aired on a National Network; Line Sisters on Lifetime TV. It was an amazing experience and has inspired me to continue to create, learn as much as I can from others, and just be the best version of myself everyday.

At a very young age, I began to be active in my church, school, and outside of school. I played sports from little league to AAU, to All-Star Cheer, to being a Collegiate Athlete, which taught me a lot about responsibility, time management, and work ethic. I truly believe that the future you see is the future you get. So with faith and work ethic, I plan to continue to grow into the Millennia Mogul that I was purposed to be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I’ve had many struggled along the way. One of the first struggles I faced was trying to find a job in my field. I couldn’t understand why it was so hard. I had experience from internships, a Broadcast Journalism degree, and a Master’s Degree and no one would hire me. I learned that I couldn’t wait for anyone to bring me to the table so I made my own.

Now that I am a Full-Time Entrepreneur, other struggles I’ve faced include burnout, imposter syndrome, and feeling uninspired. However, I’m learning to give myself grace and truly take it one day at a time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Fashion Designer/Buyer, Actress, and Creative Director. My Fashion & Lifestyle Business is called Millennia Mogul where we specialize in making the modern chic boss feel and look good while making mogul moves. It was inspired by me never being able to find really fashionable clothes to work in or go to professional events.

I am known for my vibrant prominent personality and passionate creative spirit. I am most proud of mentoring and inspiring Millennials worldwide to walk in their Mogul Authority. I offer Brand Consultations for those who aren’t sure how to show up for themselves but know they want to.

What sets me apart from others is that I’m me. There isn’t another person like me at all. So I take pride in being who I am and creating genuine relationships.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Life is all about taking risk. Chances make champions and if you can see it, you can be it but you will never know unless you take a risk and try.

I’ve taken plenty of risk and they are scary but I’m still here. One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was moving to Atlanta, GA. I had no job lined up and I didn’t know anyone in the Entertainment Industry. I just had a small savings account and a plan not to stop until I no longer have to introduce myself.
