Conversations with Brian Dacres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Dacres.

Brian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began Covenaunt as a sophomore in high school with the intention of making bespoke fashion pieces inspired by poems and short stories I wrote in my spare time. Unfortunately, my family fell upon hard times during this period and I spent most of my late adolescence homeless, relying on my poetry to help me cope with my environment. This would be the spark that inspired me to transform my short stories and poems into an overarching narrative that would drive the creative direction of every collection at Covenaunt.

Each day continues to bring me closer to my goal of making Covenaunt a household name to be enjoyed by all.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has definitely been rough. As I stated previously, homelessness was not something that was easy to overcome and without the help of a few friends, I’m not sure I would have been able to persevere as quickly as I did. Well,

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
While I wear many hats as an entrepreneur, I frequently collaborate with others and as of recently, Covenaunt has expanded to include Leila Elmanfaa (@Bethaleil). Together we share the workload of making a story-driven project with Leila assuming most of the artistic responsibilities. She’s an integral part of what we do.
