Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Cole.
Hi Darius, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I would like to think of myself as a competitive, driven and detailed oriented person.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD which is in the northern part of Maryland, which has a population of about 800,000 and making it the third-most populous county in Maryland.
Was raised by both parents who were white-collar professionals who worked in financial servicing for a major car company.
Growing up, I played sports and I attended Milford Mill Academy for all four years of my high school career. I averaged about a 3.2 and majored in business classes. I played baseball as a shortstop and first basemen. As for Basketball, I played for three teams as a shooting guard and small forward.
After graduating from high school, I began to start my journey to continue my education by enrolling in CCBC (Community College of Baltimore) located in Catonsville, Which I majored in accounting and business admin.
After being in college for about 2-3 years, I felt stagnant and felt as if life was just passing me by and no matter how hard I tried to stay focused in school nothing would go my way. I would constantly miss my bus, not because I wasn’t on time to catch it but because it was overcrowded. Not only that, I began to run into financial problems and couldn’t no longer afford any books through my financial aid. So, I felt as if I needed to shake my life up in a drastic way, so I made one of the biggest choices in my life at the time to drop out.
So, after deciding to leave school, at least temporarily, I began to look for jobs because having money and needing money became my primary focus. So, I became a lifeguard for about three years and then I went into retail as an electronic associate working for Walmart for about a year, then I worked for a detailing company which then had me working at many dealerships such as Subaru, Honda, Mini Coupe, until I was placed in position at Mercedes located in Owings Mills Maryland and remained with the company for about 3-4 years.
While working for Mercedes, a feeling of wanting “more” out of life began to manifest within me. I couldn’t take just cleaning and riding in other client’s expensive cars and imagining what would life be if I owned one. I wanted to be the other person on the other side, waiting for my car to be done cleaning while someone else does the hard labor, you know? It’s just so frustrating struggling to pay bills and living out of your car from time to time just because you have nowhere else to go. I craved for CHANGE!
So, I was presented with a huge offer to become an intern as a bookkeeper at a firm, the only thing was that the job was in Atlanta, Georgia. I had to make a huge choice, do I leave my family and friends to pursue my dreams on being and becoming a better me? or do I stay and continue to feel trapped while still being surrounded by my family and friends.
So, as you can predict I left my hometown, friends and family to do what I thought was best for me at the time. Yes! I was extremely sad and scared, but I felt as though I had nothing to really lose and everything to gain. So, I left I took the bare minimum and my dog with me to Atlanta, I even left my car. To me, this was a clean slate to start a new life in a new city. When I arrived in Atlanta, I immediately began to work learning the business and learning new skills that would better my mind and me. I took a whole year off social media since it was making me depressed every time I would log on. It just was putting negative feelings within me, which I didn’t need especially if I’m on a journey to become a better me.
So, A year and half has passed since I’ve been in Atlanta, and I had misfortune, I lost my main job, I got into an accident which then left me carless and I had a dog that I had to care for daily. I almost found myself going back home to Baltimore, but I kept hearing some voice within me telling me to stick it out. I barely had any money at this time and was struggling to get a good decent paying job.
While reading books and feeding my mind while being at my lowest point in life, I read on having good credit and what having good credit could do for my life. So, I checked my credit and realized it was in a poor state, sitting at a score of 466. I was then told about my soon to be mentor (which I wouldn’t know) James Hunt, I requested his assistance on improving my overall credit. I assume while talking to him about my situation, he saw something in me and offered me a job, which I happily accepted, seeing that I probably could learn a ton from this man, I mean he is a millionaire for crying out loud, I better learn something from him.
So, after working for and with James Hunt for about 3 to 4 years, I learned everything there is to know about credit and I started my own business helping individuals like myself on improving their credit and their overall lives. I’ve since then risen my score to over a 750 credit score and help over thousands of people to achieve the same & their overall goals involving credit.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While being in business and working for yourself is great and all. It does have its setbacks and obstacles.
After being in business for about four years now, my business began to grow and finally take off. So I had to hire individuals to be a part of my company and help expand the business but in doing so I didn’t take into account “Covid” so when that happened business slowed down tremendously and being fairly a new business owner I took the hit paid my employees out of my own pocket which was very difficult to do.
Also, being that business was so profitable before covid I didn’t properly budget like I’m learning to now, which caused other challenges where I had to let employees go to save the business as a whole.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So I am which you call a Credit Coach Specialist.

I’ve grown over the years in word of mouth advertisement based on good results and communication for anyone that decides to become a client of mine and achieving results when it comes to achieving one’s credit goals within 45 days or sooner.
I am most passionate & proud of the way I can help change someone’s life for the better and teach them information that benefits not only them but anyone who may be connected to that individual.
I believe what sets me apart from other credit agencies like mine besides achieving good results of course but the communication aspect and the fact like we give off the vibe like your working with a “friend” and not just a company, which also increases the trust factor that we gain from clients.
What matters most to you?
What matters most is the positive impact that myself and my team can provide to a complete stranger simply looking for help.
Giving back to my community where I achieve the most support is very important to me, not only because it benefits the business but most importantly teaching information like this can be taught on to generations, where wealth can ultimately be achieved the right way.
Even if I impact only a thousand lives, that’s a thousand more lives that has a chance to change their lives for the better and achieve whatever they may desire through the know how of obtaining excellent credit.
