Daily Inspiration: Meet Devarine Mclean

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devarine Mclean.

Hi Devarine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Bizstart101 as a trial project. My first trip to China was in 2017. I was very active on social media , instagram to be exact while I was on that trip. I noticed that alot of persons kept reaching out to me wanting to know and get the contact information for the vendors I was visiting and shopping with. Being the entrepreneur that I am I immediately got a business idea. Why not sell vendor lists ? I made one post testing the waters and the rest was history.
I have customers from all over the world that has purchased vendor list and I eventually branched out into providing sourcing services. Today I am still traveling to China , selling vendors list and sourcing items for my corporate clients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In business there are always struggles so it has never been a smooth road. What I can say though is that the whole vendor list business has slowed down and thats because information is more readily accessible now.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I started in business by re selling vintage clothing. I did extremely well. I then branched off into making customized denim , doing and selling makeup and also fast fashion. I am really known for being that girl thats always dressing different , fearlessly being herself and being a denim queen. Yes I am mostly known for my work with Denim.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Everything about my childhood is my favorite memory. My parents really allowed me to be a child. I had everything to my comfort. I had the bicycles , the toys , the computer , the amusement park trips , ect.
Also growing up with both parents has been my greatest blessing and my #1 memory. It was a household filled with love , care and I had my parents full attention. Yes ! I was the only child at home. I was nurtured and cared for to the best of their ability and that has contributed alot to my humility now as a adult.
