Exploring Life & Business with Danielle Rosser of UltimateCreativ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Rosser.

Hi Danielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started at Trotwood-Madison High School, in Ohio, when my English teacher asked me to join the school newspaper staff. I had written poetry and skits before, but didn’t know anything about journalism. Dr. Falami fixed that! Not only did she drag me onto the newspaper staff, she took several of the writers to writing workshops and exposed me to what would be my first career. This led to multiple fulfilling internships at the Dayton Daily News, alongside veteran journalists who have a special place in my heart today. I covered education, then police, crime and city news in the Mason, Kings Mills and Middletown areas near Cincinnati later.

Everything changed when I moved to Atlanta, where my husband and I started a family. When our first child was born in 2010, I transitioned into communications consulting with a specialty in public relations. Then, I released my first book, a Christian marriage read called “This Crown was Made for You: The Queen You Were Destined to Be,” in 2017. It’s nice to have been on both sides of the storytelling process, and push myself to flex my creativity.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The best way I can put it would be to think of it as a marathon. I’ve done a lot of training in preparation for this career – I’ve earned degrees, studied under some of the best writers and practitioners, and put in the work for the past 20 years – but perseverance keeps me in the race.

The landscape of the communications industry has changed so much from the time that it was introduced to me in the early 2000s. Anyone who’s remained in comms throughout the newsroom cuts, new technologies, and other shifts has had to possess some grit and love for what they do. Life has thrown a lot at my family and me, but because I have love and support at home and from my family, I’ve been able to rise above the tide. God and my family have been my buoy through everything, including my husband encouraging me to pursue a master’s degree because he knew it would be an important accomplishment for me.

I cannot stress enough the gratitude I have for my loved ones. I know that not everyone has a support system, but I appreciate every large and small way that my village keeps me going.

As you know, we’re big fans of UltimateCreativ. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
UltimateCreativ is my communications consultancy in which I build brand awareness for small businesses through media relations and public relations. I obtain exposure opportunities for my clients through features in magazines, on television shows, in newspapers, on podcasts and other media platforms.

I’m most proud of my dedication to maintain my ethics as I work to deliver for my clients. Everyone wants to keep their clients happy – and publicists often walk a tightrope – but my clients respect my professional opinion and trust me to represent them in a way that leaves no regrets.

Something that sets me apart is my journalism background. I’ve been on both sides of the table, and my clients appreciate that I can prepare and present them well for interaction with the media because I once represented the media.

Along with my PR activities, I also write content, copyedit, and offer media training to prepare business representatives for press interviews.

How do you define success?
For me, success is knowing that I did everything within my power for a favorable outcome and that God is pleased with what I accomplished today. If something doesn’t turn out the way I had envisioned, despite my best efforts, I know that was just the way it was meant to happen.
