Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Hall.

Hi Keisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Prayer & Hustle when I moved back to my hometown of Newburgh, NY after tearing my ACL. I was living in Tampa, coaching two basketball teams, mentoring during the day and serving at night and was miserable. All the hard work and effort I was putting out was not being put back into myself and essentially, I lost myself. I felt as if God had to slow me down because I was not going to do it. When I moved back home, I finally decided to become a full-time entrepreneur but I did not know what to do. I got down on my knees and asked God to show me and that’s when the name came to me. “Prayer & Hustle”; it was literally my lifestyle. So, I put the name on a shirt and people instantly gravitated toward it. That was 2016. Fast forward to today, my brand has expanded from one t-shirt to multiple collections, home items, jewelry and bags.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There has def been a lot of bumps, detours and breakdowns. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is actually happening right now. I lost thousands of dollars in inventory due to theft and circumstances completely out of my control. From that, another challenge emerged. Which was surrendering to the uncontrollable and still maintaining faith that it will all come back tenfold. I have had no choice but to pause and evaluate what I can make up of this and what is the next best direction to go in. I know for a fact my next move is about to be my best move. I believe ultimately, a struggle that almost all business owners will face is plans being completely eradicated and the capability to adapt and pivot.

We’ve been impressed with Prayer & Hustle, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Prayer & Hustle is a conglomerate. It offers retail products, accounting services and philanthropy. It is known for the comfy, classy products that is sold in retail because that is how it began. It is relatable and unique because it is a lifestyle that aligns with a plethora of individuals from all walks of life. I am most proud of the customer service that I provide. I intentionally go above and beyond to create a customer experience that is unforgettable. I want readers to know about my brand, offerings and services that they are all personalized to meet their needs and expectations.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see Prayer & Hustle becoming a holding company for businesses that specialize in retail, accounting, non-profit work and start-ups. The overall objective will be to help aspiring business owners bring their ideas to fruition and curating a strategy to sustain it.
