Hidden Gems: Meet Edison Jaquez of Enhance and Elevate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edison Jaquez. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Edison A. Jaquez – Biography “Never let your Past Determine your Future.”

Mr. Jaquez was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States with his family at the age of seven. He graduated from Perth Amboy High School and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Berkeley College. Long before any of his accomplishments, Mr. Jaquez story is very similar and familiar. He spent his early years fighting against the very neighborhood he grew up in. His story will soon become a testimony that he will use as a tool to motivate and inspire youth to strive for better.

Mr. Jaquez has made sure to stay actively involved with the youth and help others within his community. He is currently employed with The Passion Care Center, where he serves as a Mentor and Drug & Alcohol counselor. In addition to his current position, Mr. Jaquez is the CEO of B-Men, Co-Founder of BYOUtiful. All mentoring organizations are designed to enhance the lives of today’s youth. Mr. Jaquez is also a motivational speaker traveling throughout the state, sharing his story and reaching many audiences, young and old. He is a self-published author of his own memoir/biography titled “A Second Chance; Life Lessons Turned into Living Dreams.” He also wrote a self-help book titled “Turning A Mess Into A Message as well as a children’s book titled “Believe In Your Dreams.” Mr. Jaquez has appeared in various newspapers & radio stations for his work in the community and with the youth. Mr. Jaquez was recently named the 2016 Alumni of the Year from his Alma Matter, Berkeley College. Mr. Jaquez also received the 2017 Vale La Pena award from the Boy Scouts of America for his service in the community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a smooth road even during Covid my business was able to perform well due to the nature of people needing someone to talk too.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We offer a variety of services from mentoring, life coaching, and counseling. We strive to make real connections with our clients. What sets us apart from others is our ability to connect with others and our transparency. I’m most proud of the trust others put in us. I want the readers to know that speaking with a life coach or therapist is saying yes to you. Don’t listen to the stigma on mental health. Your mental health matters.

How do you define success?
I define success by getting up every chance God gives me and working hard. Not taking anything for granted.
