Hidden Gems: Meet LeeAnna Watson-Clemon of Styles2NV

Today we’d like to introduce you to LeeAnna Watson-Clemon.

Hi LeeAnna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my business in High School. I would wake up every morning and style my hair. Others loved it so much they would ask can I do theirs too. When I reached the 10th grade it was a full-time job for me. My senior year arrived and my mother was telling me I had to decide where I was going for college. I told her I wanted to go for cosmetology. She was so upset saying that wasn’t a real career. I was determined to show my mother it was an awesome career. I finished cosmetology school and got my license. I began selling virgin hair in 2011 to Mobile, AL and reached out to several other areas. Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, New Orleans, etc. I took several course to learn new skills (frontal install). I begin showcasing the skill that I adapted. So many were intrigued with my work. I started traveling month after month to clients in Atlanta and all over the southern area. I get booked for clients, weddings, classes, and photoshoots. I was at the top of my career. My mother passed away at only 55 years of age. Leaving me my brother and sister. We vowed we will stick together as our mother would want us.

Unfortunately, six months later, my little brother passed away in a fatal accident. This sent me into a very depressing state. I didn’t want to eat or sleep. I was completely devastated. My daughter would help wipe my tears away. One morning I told myself that was enough, I still have her to provide for. I launched my very own hair care line. NVious Hair Care. My line includes all products used to install and maintain lace frontal/ closure installs. Leaving a message on all my bottles In Loving Memory of my Mother and Brother, Phillipans 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I branded my own hot comb which works wonders in a flawless installation of any lace service. My services became very big with patients suffering from medical hair loss. I began making wigs on sewing machine to fit each client’s head. The installs look so natural. I met a few clients that suffered from chemotherapy. Complete hair loss. They could not afford to purchase wigs after they had paid co-pays and for medicine. I decided to help them as much as I can. I became a Cranial Prothesis Supplier. I can accept health insurance to pay for my client’s wigs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Losing my mother and brother six months apart sent me into a great state of depression. I didn’t work for over a month. My clientele went down. I had to pick up a job as a phlebotomist to be able to afford my bills.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Styles2NV?
I am a 13 year Master Cosmetologist. Specializing in Custom made Wigs using Top Quality Virgin Burmese Hair.

Cranial Prothesis Supplier.

I help women gain their self-confidence back inside and out!

My most popular Hot Comb as product and the quality of the wigs I make would be the service.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Yes, I have learned marketing is a key. During covid, I had to stop with my face to face clients and traveling. Marketing my wigs made Quarantining a much easier time for my clients. Using their head measurements, I would make durable wigs, style them to their desire and ship them ready for easy self installs at home.
