Today we’d like to introduce you to Patti Mobley and Jennifer Hartley.

Patti and Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Gage’s Creations Soaps and More is a mother and daughter small business that was started about three years ago in my mother’s kitchen as a hobby and we have enjoyed making our products ever since. My mother, Patti, works a full-time job in insurance during the day and is a soapmaker and candlemaker by night. My name is Jennifer (daughter) and I work a full-time job as an elementary school teacher and take care of the social media/marketing and festivals for our soap business.

We started out by doing our research on how to make cold processed soaps and soy blend candles. We made products for our friends, coworkers, and family members to try and give us feedback. Gage’s Creations Soaps & More attended their first festival on October 12, 2019 in Warm Springs, GA. The festival was a success and it pushed us outward to creating our own website and widening our social media outlets. We love creating products using natural ingredients and sharing the benefits of our products with our customers as well as new people. We enjoy attending craft fairs and festivals where we get to meet other people and see their excitement when they look at and smell our products. We love and enjoy what we do and look forward to sharing our amazing products with everyone! We appreciate all our customers and want them to enjoy our products as much as we do!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As any small business, we have had many successes as well as struggles along the way. Making cold processed soap and our other products is a form of art which takes many hours, months, and years to perfect over time. Over the past two years, we have perfected the method of making our cold processed soap and there are times where we make mistakes or want to try a different method and it doesn’t work out. We assess our mistakes or the method we use, learn from it, and come up with a better way to create that particular product. Another struggle that is time-consuming and takes lots of time to research is locating the ingredients or supplies needed to make our products at a price that is affordable for our customers. We use the best ingredients and supplies for our products because our brand represents that to our customers.

Gage’s Creations Soaps & More specializes in providing bath and body products with natural ingredients that nourishes and refreshes your skin daily. We make cold processed soaps, body butters, sugar scrubs, and body creams. The ingredients used in our products are plant-based and good for your skin. We also offer candles with cute toppings and use premium scents with a strong throw which our customers really enjoy using in their homes. Our personality and drive set us apart from other businesses. A big chunk of our success is going to festivals and shows to showcase our products to the public. We love reaching out and talking to people about our products and people will open up to us during the conversation about what their needs are so we are able to help them better. Since we are talkers, we tend to get off topic discussing other things but we enjoy getting to know our customers. We also have this drive to do better and change things up in our business to make it more successful. This drive helps us when things are not going well and we know we need to dig in deep to correct things or accomplish our tasks.

We have worked very hard to improve our brand for Gage’s Creations over the past two years. We use the best ingredients, premium scents, and top of the line containers for our products. The biggest achievement is making our products unique from the rest of the businesses. We love using different colors for our soaps, body butters, sugar scrubs, and bath bombs and including amazing toppers on them that are eye appealing.

Everything we create is made with our southern charm and we make the best quality products that we would use ourselves in our own home.
