Hi Travis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey in the fashion industry began during my senior year of high school at Eagles Landing Christian Academy. I started my clothing line, Young King Society, fueled by a passion for style and creativity. While attending LSU, I continued to nurture my brand, participating in fashion shows and business competitions.

As I approached the end of my senior year, I faced a pivotal decision. I had to choose between pursuing a career in financial analysis or following my passion for fashion and entrepreneurship. Ultimately, I decided to take the leap and pursue my dreams. On April 1, 2017, I opened the doors to my first brick-and-mortar store, 7XCHANGE. 7XCHANGE is an independent fashion retailer and dealer, housing some of the most popular brands in streetwear and contemporary fashion.

Today, I am proud to say that I am expanding my brand, with plans to open a new location in Midtown. From humble beginnings in high school to now navigating the competitive world of fashion retail, my journey is one of dedication, passion, and perseverance. I am excited for the future as I continue to grow and evolve in the fashion industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path to success was not easy or smooth, echoing the universal truth that success is often a challenging journey. Entrepreneurship mirrors life in its hurdles and obstacles. In my early days, one of the biggest challenges I faced was finding support, outside of my parents, to invest the time, energy, and grit it takes to be successful in this business in perpetuity.

In my late father’s words, “Good help is hard to find.” I resonate deeply with this sentiment as I found myself tackling every aspect of my business alone. However, God always brings us the guidance and wisdom that we need when we need it. Often, this help is in the form of people or pure trial by fire.

Trusting others became a significant hurdle I had to surmount. I realized that for my business to flourish, I needed to entrust others with my vision and empower them to aid in executing my plans. After all, growth necessitates collaboration and the ability to rely on a team to bring your aspirations to fruition.

In life, without taking risks, even the smallest achievements remain out of reach. Every decision we make involves the gamble of a particular outcome. For me, the decision to start my own business instead of working for someone else was an obvious choice.

The prospect of freedom and financial stability, with everything resting on my shoulders, outweighed any uncertainty. I embraced the risk and placed my faith in myself, knowing that I controlled my destiny. With faith in God, I was confident that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.
