Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Jones.
Hi Jasmine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jasmine Jones a young entrepreneur from Brooklyn NY. I am the owner of Botched By Jas a faux locs extension beauty service. I cater to a versatile age group including ages 16- 40. My customer service skills have allowed me to enter the act and be attentive to my clients allowing them to feel comfortable as can be. My customer service skills and welcoming energy sets me apart from other stylists. One of my main goals when my clients walk through the my doors is to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Getting your hair down is an overall experience and I try my best to fulfill that. I am proud of the growth I have made from when I first started until now, I can see the difference in each of my client’s hair; the parts are cleaner, the different techniques, and the duration of each style. Being able to say that I am still pushing and expanding my brand is something that I am proud of because it can be easy to give up in this field, especially when you have thousands of females out here doing the same thing as you.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Becoming a business owner was not something I intended on happening especially during a pandemic. Starting a small business was scary and interesting because you did not know what to expect. There were times when you didn’t know if you would have a busy week of clients or no clients at all. Some of the struggles along the way were not being booked up or motivated at all to do anything. Especially not having clients and feeling like you put your all into your business, you start feeling like a failure. Then I had to sit back and start analyzing my business on a deeper level during peak and off-peak seasons.
We’ve been impressed with BotchedByJas, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
