Today we’d like to introduce you to Kemberly Deane.
Hi Kemberly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Kemberly Deane is the founder and lead instructor of Kinfolk Pilates, Atlanta’s newest luxury bespoke Pilates studio redefining performance and wellness through tailored training programs. Trusted by professional athletes across the NBA, NFL, and MLB, she has worked with elite names such as Isaac Okoro (Cleveland Cavaliers), Dafe Oweh (Baltimore Ravens), and Kyle Lewis (Seattle Mariners)—helping them enhance mobility, prevent injury, and perform at their peak both on and off the field.
Kinfolk Pilates offers an intimate, members-only experience with a limited weekly roster and thoughtfully curated wellness events, creating a holistic environment where fitness meets community. In addition to her work in the studio, Kemberly is the co-host of the So, About That Podcast, where she explores topics at the intersection of wellness, entrepreneurship, womanhood, and personal growth. She’s also a mother of three and wife to a fellow entrepreneur, gracefully balancing family, business, and community with purpose and intention.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced while building my business has been learning how to balance working in my business versus working on it. As an entrepreneur, especially in the early stages, you wear all the hats—trainer, admin, creative director, customer service, strategist—and it can be easy to get caught up in the day-to-day without carving out space to zoom out and think long-term. That’s been a real growth edge for me: learning how to step back, delegate when possible, and create systems that allow me to lead with vision instead of just reacting to the next task.
And on top of that, I’m also a mother of three little ones—all under the age of four—which adds a whole different layer of complexity and reward. Managing a household while running a business has taught me how to be incredibly intentional with my time and energy. It’s not always easy, but it’s helped me build not just a business, but a life aligned with my values. The biggest lesson? Grace and structure can co-exist—and both are essential.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of the childhood memories I hold closest to my heart is spending summers in Brazil with my family. As a first-generation immigrant who moved to the United States from Brazil at just two years old, those trips were more than just vacations—they were a reconnection with my roots. I remember the warmth of my relatives, the vibrant energy of the streets, and the comfort of being surrounded by a language and culture that was innately mine, even if I was being raised thousands of miles away.
Those summers reminded me of how far my parents had come. They left everything familiar behind to build a better life for us in the U.S., and returning to Brazil each year grounded me in gratitude. It gave me perspective—not just on where we came from, but on how limitless our future could be. Witnessing their work ethic and the sacrifices they made showed me that dreaming big wasn’t just allowed, it was expected. Those memories shaped me into someone who sees the world through a wide lens, grounded in culture, driven by legacy, and fueled by the idea that anything is possible.
