Inspiring Conversations with Mark Korley of Abundant Life World Ministries

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Korley.

Hi Mark, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into ministry didn’t start on a stage—it started in the background, with a heart to serve and a hunger for God. I began as a faithful member of a church, singing in the choir, volunteering in various departments, and slowly growing into greater responsibility. I was a shepherd before I was ever given a title. My passion for people and purpose led me to serve as a Youth Leader and eventually step into the role of Pastor-in-Training.

In 2006, I was officially commissioned as a pastor and later ordained. I was entrusted with a bold assignment: to pioneer a new branch of our church in Ho, Ghana. That season shaped me. It tested my faith, stretched my leadership, and solidified my calling. I learned firsthand what it meant to plant seeds, water them with prayer, and trust God for the increase.

In 2012, I relocated to the United States. And like Abraham, I came not knowing exactly what was ahead—just knowing that God had called me. By 2018, I launched Abundant Life World Ministries in Philadelphia. What began with humble beginnings is a vibrant, Spirit-led ministry committed to truth, transformation, and total life impact.

My approach to ministry is simple: teach the Word with clarity, live it with integrity, and love people with compassion. My teaching style is real, relatable, and deeply rooted in Scripture. I don’t just want to inform minds—I want to ignite hearts. Whether I’m preaching from the pulpit or having a quiet conversation, my mission is always the same: help people see Jesus clearly, even in the chaos.

But I’ve never believed ministry is limited to Sunday mornings. That’s why I launched Ministry Beyond the Pulpit—a movement born from a deep burden to reach the lost and serve the overlooked. From feeding families to clothing the needy, supporting single parents, and offering tangible hope, we exist to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It’s not just about preaching a sermon—it’s about being one.

At my core, I’m a shepherd. I’m passionate about people—seeing them healed, whole, and walking in purpose. I believe in walking with people, not just speaking to them. I strive to build leaders, restore the broken, and create spaces where people can grow, be challenged, and encounter the transforming power of God.

Now, I’m incredibly humbled and excited to announce the next chapter: Abundant Life World Ministries – Atlanta, launching in the fall of 2025. It’s more than a church—it’s a movement. A community where faith meets action and Jesus is glorified in every part of life.

God is still writing the story. And I’m just grateful to be a part of it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? Not at all. But it’s been a God-led road.

There have been moments of great joy and momentum, but also seasons of deep challenge and stretching. Ministry, like life, is rarely ever a straight line. There were times I questioned the timing of God, wrestled with disappointments, and carried burdens that felt far too heavy to lift on my own.

When I was sent to plant the church in Ho, Ghana, there were days we had more empty chairs than people—but I kept preaching like the room was full. Moving to the U.S. was another leap of faith. Starting over in a new country with limited resources, unfamiliar systems, and no guarantees wasn’t easy. There were moments of financial strain, loneliness, and trying to balance the needs of my family with the weight of the calling.

Launching Abundant Life World Ministries in Philadelphia came with its own challenges—finding a place to gather, building trust in a new community, and doing ministry with limited help. There were setbacks, slow seasons, and spiritual warfare that tried to derail the vision.

But through it all, God was faithful. Each trial refined me. Each obstacle became a testimony. And each delay taught me that God’s timing is always perfect, even when it doesn’t feel convenient. Those hard seasons taught me endurance, deepened my prayer life, and reminded me that the One who called me is able to finish what He started.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth—but it’s been purposeful. And I wouldn’t trade the process, because it’s built in me a faith that doesn’t flinch and a heart that still burns for what God has called me to do.

We’ve been impressed with Abundant Life World Ministries, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Abundant Life World Ministries is more than just a church—it’s a movement of hope, healing, and purpose. Founded on the belief that Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10), our mission is to help people experience the fullness of God in every area of their lives—spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and practically.

We launched our first branch in Philadelphia in 2018, with a small but passionate group of believers who were hungry for truth, transformation, and authentic community. What started in faith is growing into a vibrant ministry that blends powerful teaching, prophetic worship, and a deep commitment to serving both the church and the community.

At Abundant Life, we are a Bible-centered, Spirit-led, and people-focused ministry. We believe church should not only be a place where people gather but also a place where lives are changed. Our heart beats for discipleship, leadership development, family restoration, and outreach that meets people where they are.

Through our initiative, Ministry Beyond the Pulpit, we’ve extended our mission beyond church walls—outreaches, support for widows, and more. We believe in being the church, not just attending one.

And now, we are stepping into an exciting new chapter as we prepare to launch Abundant Life World Ministries – Atlanta in Fall 2025. This expansion is more than growth—it’s about multiplying impact, building community, and raising kingdom-minded believers in a new city.

Whether you’re searching for a place to belong, grow, serve, or heal, Abundant Life is a home for you. We’re a family of faith, committed to living out the gospel and walking with people on their journey to wholeness and purpose.

Any big plans?
The future is filled with expectations, and I believe we’re just getting started.

Right now, one of the most exciting things on the horizon is the launch of Abundant Life World Ministries – Atlanta in the fall of 2025. This isn’t just about planting another church—it’s about expanding the reach of the Kingdom, raising up leaders, and creating a space where people can encounter God, grow in their purpose, and live the abundant life He promised.

We’re building a strong foundation—not just with events or gatherings, but with discipleship, leadership development, outreach, and a culture of authenticity and love. We want to see lives transformed, families restored, and communities impacted—not just on Sundays, but every day of the week.

Beyond the church walls, we’re also preparing to grow our humanitarian and outreach work through Ministry Beyond the Pulpit. I envision mobile food pantries, mentorship programs, job and skill training, and continued support for single parents and underserved communities. We’re called to be a church with a pulse in the streets, not just presence in a building.

Personally, I’m also looking forward to writing more, mentoring younger pastors and leaders, and creating spaces—conferences, trainings, and retreats—where people can be refreshed, equipped, and launched into their own callings.

Big change is already in motion, but the heart remains the same: to preach Jesus, serve people, and reflect God’s heart in all we do. The future is bright, and by God’s grace, we’re walking into it with bold faith and open hands.
