Inspiring Conversations with Dr. Nancy Echefu, M.D. of Havilah Hair Restoration

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Nancy Echefu, M.D.

Hi Dr. Echefu, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started with my own personal struggle with hair loss. I went through the emotional toll it can take, and I was frustrated by the lack of comprehensive care. Most clinics only offered either medical or surgical treatments NOT both. That’s when I realized there was a real need for a one-stop shop for hair restoration solutions.

That’s how Havilah Hair Restoration was born out of my own experience and a passion to help others. As a practicing physician with over a decade of experience in the medical field, I wanted to create something rooted in both science and compassion. Since opening our doors in Peachtree City, Georgia, I’ve had the privilege of helping men and women locally and internationally regain their confidence through personalized, compassionate care using treatments like hair transplants, PRP, SMP, and TED hair restoration.

In just a short time, Havilah Hair Restoration has grown in ways I could have only dreamed. I was honored to be named the 2024 Regional Winner of Best of Georgia, and most recently featured in Best in Georgia Magazine 2025 recognition that reflects our clinic’s commitment to excellence and patient-centered care.
I also host our annual Hair Loss Show, where we educate, connect, and showcase the latest advances in the field. And as the only female hair transplant physician in South Georgia recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) where I serve as a Patient Advocate I take pride in leading with integrity, education, and empathy.

What makes this work meaningful for me isn’t just the transformations I see in the mirror it’s the renewed confidence, the tears of joy, the restored sense of self in each patient. That’s why I do what I do. It’s more than hair. It’s healing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting Havilah Hair Restoration came from a deeply personal place, but turning that vision into a reality wasn’t easy. As someone who went through hair loss myself, I knew the emotional side of the journey but building a clinic that offered both medical and surgical hair restoration under one roof? That was a challenge.
There were times I questioned if I could really bring something different to the industry. Being a woman in a field that’s largely male-dominated, especially in hair transplantation, came with its own set of obstacles from earning respect to gaining trust in a highly specialized space.
I had to navigate not only the clinical side but also the business side finding the right team, investing in cutting-edge technology, and most importantly, making sure that every single patient felt seen, heard, and supported.
But every challenge only reinforced why I started this journey in the first place: to create a safe, effective, and compassionate place for people dealing with hair loss. Looking back, the struggles were all worth it. They shaped the heart of what Havilah is today a place of healing, not just for hair, but for self-esteem and confidence too.

We’ve been impressed with Havilah Hair Restoration, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Havilah Hair Restoration, we specialize in personalized solutions for hair loss and thinning hair. As a physician-led clinic, we offer advanced treatments like FUE hair transplant surgery, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), TED therapy, and SMP.

What sets us apart is our patient-centered approach. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. Every treatment plan is designed with the individual in mind combining medical expertise and genuine care. Patients trust us because they feel heard, valued, and supported throughout their hair restoration journey.

We’re most proud of the confidence we help restore. Hair loss is deeply personal, and it affects more than just appearance it impacts identity and self-esteem. Knowing that we’re helping people regain both their hair and their confidence is the heartbeat of our brand.

We want readers to know that you don’t have to navigate hair loss alone. Whether you’re ready for treatment or just exploring options, we offer free virtual consultations and in-clinic evaluations to guide you every step of the way.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always curious, compassionate, and just a little bit stubborn, in the best way. I was the type of child who asked a million questions and genuinely wanted to understand how things worked, especially when it came to the human body. I’ve always had a deep interest in science and medicine, but more than that, I’ve always cared deeply about people.
I was also very driven. If I set my mind to something, I was going to figure out how to get it done no matter what. That determination has stayed with me through every phase of life and definitely helped me push through the challenges of building Havilah Hair Restoration from the ground up.
And even as a child, I think I had a natural gift for encouragement. Whether it was cheering on a friend or helping someone feel better about themselves, I’ve always believed in lifting others up which is at the core of what I do now.
