Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Dias.
Erica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my creative journey at the ripe age of 15 years old, and I can remember it like it was yesterday, reaching out to my version of Michelle Obama but in the fashion world June Ambrose when I was 15, calling her office on my lunch break. I explained to her how much I admired her work ethic and how I had aspirations to be just like her when I graduated high school. Yes, I was still in high school when I connected with my fashion fairy god-auntie (in my head) lol June Ambrose. I was so THANKFUL & GRATEFUL that she took the time to listen to me, give me advice and agree to mentor me along my journey. She gave me so much great advice but the fact that she was willing to pour into me at such a young age, that really touched me in a way that I still hold dear to me to this day. Fast forward, I interned my butt of with Vibe Magazine, BET Networks, various Costume Designers and finally met June Ambrose when I was 19. I started building my career as a Wardrobe Stylist for commercials and film, I knew I wanted more and I always consulted with clients on their brands as a “side hustle” but after working on a particular TV set that was very toxic, I decided to step out on FAITH, and I created; The B Firm PR. Almost, 7 years later, here I am, chasing goals that are bigger than myself, achieving them and checking them off my vision board and now I’m interviewing with you all! A phenomenal publication that I’ve always wanted to be in! God is GOOD!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has defiantly not been all peaches and cream. I’ve had some “hotel nights”, some “can I sleep on your couch for a week” nights, THANKFULLY now, I am a homeowner:) but yes, I’ve had some days that I wanted to give up on this journey as an entrepreneur but then, I remember why I started. I dig deep, I go harder but I NEVER GAVE UP! I didn’t know it all when I started out on this endeavor, and I still don’t know it all but I ask questions, I have a tribe that I trust, and I delegate to elevate (shameless plug from my book; Faith It Until You Make It) I was my own assistant , accountant, tax person and lawyer in the beginning. I knew how to do PR but I didn’t know the full extent of running a business.
Advice that I would give other women is to Start By Starting… get a mentor, sponsor, and an advisor or an accountability partner who can guide you through this journey. Just DON’T GIVE UP!!!

What I am most proud of as a brand, and service provider is that I genuinely believe in all of my clients that I have worked with (past & present) I’ve said it since the start, that I would never sign anyone just because they can afford it, or because I need the money. I sign people and brands that I 100 & 10% believe in. I am proud of that. I run my business with integrity, loyalty, and FAITH! If God isn’t in it, I don’t sign the client and that’s that.
Who have you been inspired by?
My tribe is something special… my best friend Tiffany Brown has inspired me from our first encounter, and after hearing her story I knew God put her in my life for a reason. I needed a friend who I could be myself around and let them know the real. She is that person in my life. We have the same values and love of helping other young women. She is one of the hardest working phenomenal women that I know and I am so proud of her. We have both grown so much since meeting.
My sister; Ashley Jernigan, is one of the smartest, women that I know. She wears so many hats but my favorite one is a sister. I would choose her as a friend even if we weren’t related lol she’s driven, caring, a go-getter, focused and I can’t wait for the world to see what I’ve always known. She inspires me on a daily basis and I am so thankful to have her in my life.
My grandma inspired me on a daily basis. She was the only person who could cuss me out and I would still ask her if I could spend the night at her house. I miss her so much. She was defiantly the Jackie of all trades but she mastered family. Everything she built was to leave a legacy for her family. She taught me the meaning of womanhood and loving yourself. She taught me how to pray. I’ll never forget her telling me to ‘come to god in secret and he will make your dreams and wishes come true” My grandmother was the Queen in my life, the Michelle Obama before I knew who she was, and she was my version of Oprah.
