Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabine Henderson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started when I was a little girl, about 7 years old. I watched my aunt braid my older sisters hair and I picked it up immediately. I was was not formally taught the art of hair until I went to Cosmetology school at the age of 20. In between the age of 7 and 20, I continued doing hair and building a clientele off of the shear gift that God gave me from birth. By the age of 22, I was blessed to come right out of school and work at the best salon in Atlanta N’Seya Salon and Spa. This salon took my career to another level and I was very blessed to be there. At the age of 24, I got married to the love of my life and had a baby girl by the age of 26. By 28, I opened my salon in Mableton, GA. Had success and awesome clients, thanks to the mighty hand and grace of God! My husband was, and still is, my biggest supporter. Since then, I felt a calling on my life from God to move to LA, by faith, and we are here today. Although God and I are still writing this story of my life, I am up for the challenge and journey. God has great things instore for me and my family and I am excited to see how it all plays out!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road was definitely difficult and rough. I can’t tell you how many no’s I heard, tears I cried, and how lonely the road was. Although the no’s hurt and sometimes I felt like giving up, It just motivated me to keep going until I heard a yes! God was my source and my strength, and without Him, I would not have made it. My advice to all the young women is to let the no’s motivate you and hold on to God’s hands.
