Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Boston.
Hi Linda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

No matter the stage, Linda Boston leads with love ~ mentoring, teaching, and performing with heart and purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life…
After college, I became deeply involved as a featured vocalist at Fellowship Chapel Church and with the Detroit chapter of the NAACP, while continuing to grow creatively through a career in broadcasting at WJR Radio, Detroit and live theater.
In time, I stepped into the role of caregiver for my mother as she journeyed through Alzheimer’s. Those nine years reshaped me…teaching profound lessons about love, resilience, and the quiet wisdom of intuition.
Later came marriage and motherhood. Raising my daughter, Aziza, while caring for my mother and navigating divorce, demanded more than I thought I had to give. Yet, each chapter, joyful or trying, has been a masterclass in grace and growth.
Through it all, I hold fast to this truth: creativity flows endlessly, and patience is the key to everything I touch.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What I do & specialize in:
I’m a performing, teaching and literary artist whose work spans acting, singing, hosting and mentorship. From my early days in radio and live theatre in Detroit (including commercial/parody voice work on WJR Radio) to major stage productions, such as my award-winning portrayal in the one-woman show “Moms Mabley: The Naked Truth” and the internationally acclaimed GFour Production of “Menopause The Musical”, I bring a blend of performance, voice and life-story into everything I do.
My specialty isn’t just being “on stage”….it’s amplifying voices, unlocking stories, and turning creativity into community impact. I teach, mentor, create, host, and use each medium as a bridge…whether it’s music, theatre, literature or media.
What I’m most proud of
One of my proudest accomplishments is co-hosting the show Infinite Perspectives with Michelle-Diamond: “Where Voices Become Vision.” It gives our community the platform to speak, to shine, to turn life into insight.
I’m also deeply proud of the non-profit work I’ve done (through PEER, Inc.) reaching seniors, youth, returning citizens and those often overlooked. Each performance, each voice I mentor or partner with…that’s where the pride lives.
What sets me apart
What makes me different:
• A career built on versatility, voice talent, stage actor, singer, teacher, host.
• A commitment to story and depth: I don’t just perform, I reflect the experience of life, loss, caregiving, change and bring that into the art.
• A grounded belief in creativity in all things: Not just the spotlight moments, but the everyday, the hidden, the in between.
• A heart for bridging worlds: Art meets activism meets community, making sure platforms aren’t just for show but for meaning.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe life itself is a series of risks, some loud, some quiet. Every time we step into something unfamiliar, we’re taking one. I’ve taken many over the years, both personal and creative.
One risk that I’m particularly grateful for is my CD “PERMISSION: The Power of Being” (2012) and the remix “The Truth The Light Brighter” (2025), available on all streaming platforms. Both were co-created with triple Platinum and Top Ten Billboard smooth jazz artist Randy Scott. He pushed me further than I ever thought I could go and I am forever grateful for his guidance and love. What a project it was and still tends to be! In 2012 many said it was “before it’s time”. Now those same people and many others say it’s “right on time”. I am extremely grateful for the Divine Kiss of Creativity that came to me while writing most and covering some of the most powerful messages today. Additionally, it helped me discover, shape and solidify the Most High Divine Consciousness of my spiritual journey to and through everything I do.
As an artist, I will always take classes. For example, recent improv classes taught me to trust my instincts as an actor and to leap before I’m certain where I’ll land. Performing my one-woman show, Moms Mabley: The Naked Truth, was another leap. It demanded emotional honesty and cognitive depth that reshaped how I understood storytelling.
Then came the internationally acclaimed GFour Production of Menopause The Musical. Touring with that show meant stepping onto global stages, meeting audiences from vastly different walks of life, and trusting that humor and truth could connect us across every border. It reminded me that risk often looks like saying “yes” before you know how you’ll grow into it.
But risk isn’t always about the spotlight. Sometimes it’s choosing patience with a stranger, compassion when silence feels safer. Those moments are just as daring. They teach me that the energy we extend onstage or off…has the power to transform the soul.
