Life & Work with Thomas Gordon of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Gordon.

Hi Thomas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a love for acting and comedy. I used to be signed with an agency in Orlando, but after moving to Georgia, I kind of drifted away from it. Then one random reel assignment at work unlocked something in me again. I forgot how much I genuinely enjoyed performing and making people laugh.

That one reel turned into me creating content for my own Instagram, and in just six months I’ve grown by 6K followers and started building a little fan base of my own. It’s honestly exciting, motivating, and exactly the kind of spark I needed right now.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has honestly been bittersweet. While I’ve been excited and grateful for the momentum my reels have been getting, at the same time a close family member has been battling cancer. Some days it’s hard to even feel motivated because emotionally I’m all over the place, and other days I feel guilty for being happy about my own success while someone I love is fighting such a hard battle.

But I’m learning to just take life one day at a time. I make sure they’re okay first, and on the days they’re smiling, feeling strong, or having a good day, I take that as a sign that it’s okay for me to have one too. In a weird way, this journey has reminded me that joy and pain can exist at the same time — and you just keep moving forward however you can.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work as a leasing consultant in Lawrenceville, where I’ve really found my strength in connecting with people. I love being able to make others feel comfortable, safe, heard, and genuinely welcomed. Building trust and relationships has always come naturally to me, and it’s one of the things I enjoy most about what I do.

One of my proudest moments recently was being selected to shoot a commercial for my company that’s now featured on one of our property websites. Especially with only being here for a year, it felt really rewarding to know that my hard work, personality, and dedication have helped me stand out. It’s a reminder that the effort I put in is finally starting to pay off.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I think the best thing that works for me is that I don’t take myself too seriously. I live in the moment, I’m not afraid to look crazy, and I genuinely enjoy being in front of the camera. The energy really shows in my reels. People connect with authenticity, and for me, the fun has always been the easiest part.
