Meet Adrian Bond, an Actor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Bond.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Adrian. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in the South; for the past 14 or so, I have bounced between Atlanta, Chicago and other film hubs. I began work as an actor on my own with a web series. I did it all, filming, editing, writing, you name it. After a location fell through for what would have been my biggest project, I decided to stick with acting and leave the other aspects of the productions to people better trained in those individual fields. After working with schools such as Tribeca/Flashpoint and Columbia, and submitting to several agencies, I was signed with my first agency. That led to connections which got me my second agency. I began auditioning a lot here in Atlanta. We didn’t realize how huge Atlanta would become but it blew up fast!! Casting Directors were moving their offices from other states to be closer to the productions which were also relocating to Atlanta. I did some reenactment shows on channels like Investigation Discovery, TV One and Oxygen before I landed my biggest role: John Wilkes Booth on Fox’s Sleepy Hollow. As of today, I am credited 25 times on IMDb and have a few more shows and features coming out that I can’t reveal until they air. I have been very fortunate and equally stubborn, a combination which I believe has granted me a situation in which I can happily call myself a working actor. I have had a wonderfully supportive network including my family, friends and Classic Talent Agency located here in Alpharetta!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I was turned down to each of the 12 agencies I submitted to not once, but twice, before even being brought in for an interview. Only on my third attempt, was I granted a meeting and even after signing with my first agent, I didn’t get my first audition until signing with a second agency. Then, even with my second agency, I didn’t land a thing until my 49th audition. I also deal with, as I believe many of us do, what’s called impostor syndrome. The feeling that everyone else is a dedicated trained acting machine and wondering what on earth l’m doing on set next to them. Then I inhale, thank my lucky stars for the opportunity and push myself to the absolute limit of my talent every chance I get.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Adrian Bond – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m an actor, so I’m my own brand. Typically, I have been cast as the villain. And honestly, I love it! I believe I can bring a sinister animosity to roles that can really have an effect on the audience. Ultimately, I have to remember that in most of these cases I’m not there to tell the villains story, I’m there to tell the hero’s story. I am the bad thing that happens to them. I can go to the dark places because, I am there to make the audience care. Recently, however, I have been given the opportunity to play the good guy or my new favorite; the sad guy. It’s all about doing everything I can to help tell the story as a whole.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Most of the roles I am reading for now are on bigger productions, my dream would be to land a recurring or possibly even a series regular role on a show. I love movies, but you can really dive deep into a character arc with the time allotted in a series. Also, as much as I watch comedy, drama is where my heart is when it comes to performing. I’ve also recently began to read for productions out of LA or NY on occasion. All I can say for certain is that, whatever possibilities are in store for me, I’m here to work as hard as I can to get there.
