Meet Aisha Jihad and Kasib Mateen of Just 4 Girls Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aisha Jihad and Kasib Mateen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Just 4 Girls Salon formerly known as Just 4 Girls Braids started in 2008. I started my career in hair 14 years ago with one client-my niece. I knew the important of building my clientele so I advertised my business on YouTube and Syspace, offering to do hair for $10 or sometimes, for free. At the time I was paying $5- $10 a week to rent out a booth at the same salon just under a different name, Junnah Beauty Shop. With my husband Kasib expertise in finance and business and my hair skills and business knowledge as well we decided to expand our business and open up our own salon called Just 4 Girls Braids. In 2015, we changed our business name to Just 4 Girls Salon to expand our client base and allow every girl to be able to walk in our door and be service, rather it be a haircut, press, or a cute braiding style. In 2016, we opened up our second location in Smyrna, Ga.

Has it been a smooth road?
Like any business you have your ups and downs, but with the right team and your trust in God anything is possible. One of our biggest challenges were keeping up with the demand. Making sure we had enough staff available and knowledgeable to assist our clients and making sure we are offering them a good service.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Just 4 Girls Salon story. Tell us more about the business.
Just 4 Girls Salon is a children salon that caters to just girls. We are known for our creative spin on styles and our generous spirit around our little clients. We make each client feel special when she is in our chair and we make sure she is walking out feeling amazing. We are different from other children salons because one, the obvious, we cater to just girls. But also, because we are all about uplifting our beautiful girls. If you walk into our salon you will always see some type of affirmation on our walls because we strongly believe in thinking positive, loving your hair and loving yourself.
