Meet Alexis Metayer of Wisdom Zen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Metayer.

Alexis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Alexis, and I’m just a regular girl from Florida, whose 23 years old. I’ve always been independent, spiritual, loving, and fun. December 24th, 2019 I received the most heartbreaking news. My beloved grandmother passed away. I felt empty, shock, lonely, and confused. Although I knew my grandma was ill, I just never pictured her leaving me all alone. To my surprise, I was never alone. Three weeks later, I found out that I was expecting my first unborn. being that the time frame was so close to my grandmother’s transition, I experienced a very depressing pregnancy. I grieved for the whole nine months.

As I approached closer to my due date, I told myself that I needed to pull it together for the arrival of my babygirl, who I named Lauryn. I started a blog “wisdom zen” where I would post happy content, I was just looking for a way to uplift myself and from there it grew into inspiring others. I then questioned my purpose in life because I knew that on this new journey, a 9-5 no longer fitted in my life, but I then understood that I needed to find what is it that I’m passionate about. After months of thinking, I realized my blog was my passion. I enjoyed connecting with new souls, I love receiving the messages of how my blog help others get out of a dark place, I adored seeing how my followers wanted to know & see more of my spiritual journey. My blog slowly grew into inspiring others, and I found passion in helping other beings. I decided to turn my blog into a business, selling items that helped me on my personal journey. Items like sage, incense sticks, crystals, and yoni steams (vaginal steaming, natural herb remedy) From there, I decided that this isn’t just a regular blog/ business to me. My postings are genuine thoughts, my following base is my tribe, & “wisdomzen” will continue to grow and inspire as a brand.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely have not been as smooth as it may looks lol ❤️.  Self-discipline and not being easily discourage was a major struggle for me in the beginning. It takes serious discipline to manger the business funds & as tempting, to just blow all your money on clothes, shoes, and other materialistic things us boss babes love. BUSINESS must come first and it’s all about having inventory, consistently, marketing, etc. On slow days and even weeks so much self-doubt would kick in & I would want to give up but I never did ! I just took the time to learn my Audience & seeking methods that worked best for my brand.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Wisdom Zen – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I provide the tools and support my queens and Kings need while being on a spiritual journey. I’m so proud that my company has been life-changing to so many beings, I’m extremely proud that I am helping this World become a better place daily by spreading love & light. What sets wisdom zen apart is our generosity ❤️ nothing is done without intention and everything with wisdom zen speaks good energy! Down to the well-crafted smudge wands, moon charged crystals, packing, and even business cards. Wisdom zen screams LOVE!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would love to open a storefront ❤️, start an affirmation book, and most importantly, begin a nonprofit charity organization.
