Meet Alison Lusted of CrossPoint Ministries

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Lusted.

Alison, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My husband, Chuck, and I are the founders of Crosspoint Ministries. After eight years of partnering with another mission organization, we relocated and branched off in 2008 to form CrossPoint. Our greatest desire is to point people to the cross of Jesus Christ for eternal life and abundant life. The cross offers grace, forgiveness and power!

Chuck and I have a heart to partner with churches and individuals in the USA to take mission teams all over the globe! In 2018, there are 7 different trips to choose from – Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Dominican Republic (baseball missions), Haiti and Colombia.

In 2015, I felt like the Lord made it clear that He not only called the ministry to win LOST SOULS but also to make SOULS WHOLE. This is when the Selah Retreats were birthed. At this retreat, 10 Steps to Wholeness is introduced through intensive Bible teaching and a well-written manual. This retreat is one way that you can discover areas of your heart that have not yet been healed and allow the anointing of God to heal your broken heart and break every chain that binds you. We not only focus on breaking the chains from your past but also we focus on discovering the gifts God has given you to walk in your destiny, and we even write a mission statement for your life. This retreat can move you from a place of feeling stuck to launching you into your destiny and purpose. Many people have been set free to rise up to their potential through CrossPoint and we are forever grateful.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We discovered the impact of spiritual warfare the moment God called us to the front lines of ministry. There were many distractions and hurdles to jump over. We learned the hard way that everything we had ever judged in others is in our own hearts. At the beginning of our ministry, our marriage began to suffer in that we were living separate lives. We actually came to the verge of divorce but decided to attend a retreat in Colorado that began a restoration process in our marriage that was life-changing. Today, our marriage has been totally restored and we offer a very similar retreat to those who find themselves in a backslidden or stuck place. God is using the very thing that the enemy meant for our destruction for His glory. He now uses our story to help others receive healing for their hearts and restoration for their lives. We now both serve together in the missions ministry and the Selah Retreats.

God is blessing our lives beyond our wildest dreams and we have no doubt our later years will be greater than our former!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CrossPoint Ministries story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a 501C3 ministry that is known for preparing people to meet Jesus face to face. We believe that every person has been predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ. The goal is to WIN SOULS and help MAKE THEM WHOLE!

CrossPoint Ministries has been taking teams on short-term mission trips since 1999. In every country, we keep James 1:27 in mind that “true religion is taking care of orphans and widows in their time of need.” The thing that sets us apart from other mission organizations is that our motive for everything we do (from construction, to home visits and medical clinics or visiting orphanages and elderly people) is to share the love of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We discover the gifts that our missionaries have and we create opportunities for these gifts to be used on the mission field. People tell us all the time that they have never been on such an organized trip that also allows the Holy Spirit to lead. Our heart is to love, serve and win souls in other countries, but our passion is to see our missionaries go to deeper place of intimacy with God and be used by Him in ways they never have been before.

Intimacy births destiny and we see this on every team we take!

We also have quarterly Selah Retreats to foster inner healing and wholeness. People come away for a long weekend to pause and reflect on their life. We take 10 participants on each retreat and we see God totally transform them through the course of the weekend as they spend time worshipping, listening to intensive Bible teaching and spending time alone with God. We have seen marriages restored and individuals set free from years of heartache and pain.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We are not a big believer in “luck.” We believe that every good and perfect gift comes from above. God is in control and there are no coincidences as far as I am concerned. We have chosen the path that God has set before us and we are running this race of life with endurance fixing our eyes on Jesus.
