Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Browning.
Amanda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2015 I lost my job of 22 years. After taking a job as an office assistant, I knew that it just wasn’t for me. My husband convinced me to start a dinner delivery service and that’s how we started. Our dinner delivery service is going on six years and We are now on our 2nd year at our restaurant.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a rough road. The restaurant definitely holds so many more challenges than the delivery service did. The first step of growing into the restaurant left us changing things until we found our groove. We initially had breakfast. After the first six months, we saw that was not our strong suit in our small town. We later changed to lunches with occasional dinners. It all has been a wonderful learning experience that has not only helped to grow our business but has helped us grow closer as a family.
Please tell us about Amanda’s Farm to Fork.
We are completely family-owned and operated. Our five children all contribute to making our business a success. We are known for our home cooking, southern hospitality and our love of God and putting him first in all that we do. We not only have a restaurant, we cater to large events, we teach cooking classes and we have continued our weekly delivery service that reaches out to many of our local cities. We are so proud that we continue to grow and evolve as a business! People from all over the United States come to visit our little restaurant and we love it.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Cooking with my mom. There is no greater comfort than being able to get in the kitchen and create something delicious.
