Meet Anna Shackleford of Anna Shackleford Photography in Athens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Shackleford.

Anna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While studying for my Fine Arts Degree I discovered my passion for photography and more importantly my passion for serving others. My Dad said it best when he told me that we were put here to love and serve others and it’s something that has stuck with me throughout the years. I strive to create a loving and memorable experience for all of my couples resulting in elegant images and a genuine friendship.

I’m blessed to call Daniel my husband and we are parents to one precious little boy, Arthur.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like any other small business owner I would say that our biggest challenge is keeping a healthy work/life balance. Our business goes through intense busy seasons and during those times we have to make a conscience effort to unplug and spend time together.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Anna Shackleford Photography – what should we know?
Daniel and I are a husband and wife photography team that specialize in joyful, elegant and timeless photos. Our mission is to walk alongside couples as they begin their marriages, serving them on their wedding days so they can focus on one another, and capturing timeless images of their most cherished memories. We believe these photographs can become a tangible encouragement as they walk through marriage and inspire future generations with a legacy of love.

We are proud to have our work featured in Southern Weddings Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Harper’s Bazaar, Carats and Cake, The Knot, Savannah Soiree, Golden Isles Bride, Celebration Weddings, BRIDES, The Bridal Guide and many more. While it’s an honor to have our work featured in these beautiful publications we get our greatest joy from seeing our work proudly displayed in our client’s homes.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There are so many people to thank! Over the years we’ve been surrounded by so many incredible mentors, supporters, cheerleaders and clients. Our business wouldn’t be where it is today without their love and support. Our clients have referred us to their friends and family, our friends have modeled for us when we needed someone, our parents have watched our son while we travel for work. It takes a village and we’re forever grateful for everyone that has helped us along the way!
