Meet Tina Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Brown.

Tina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My husband and I started with our very first business when we were about 23 years old we had a cleaning company for a few years. We got married July of 2013 and the year before April of 2012, my grandmother passed away due to health complications after being diagnosed with cancer. During that time, it was hard for my family to care for my grandmother while working and making sure she had the proper care. In August of 2013, the opportunity presented itself for us to open our home health care agency in our hometown where we are from Milwaukee, WI. We researched and worked hard to birth Assured Care Services, LLC which is currently still open going on six years of business in November. We dedicated this business to my grandmother because we had a hard time as a family finding a caregiver and we didn’t want other families to lack the resources we had or not be knowledgeable of what was out there. A year later, we opened Assured Adult Day Center which was an adult day center for individuals with disabilities, advanced age, and families that needed a place for their loved ones to go while working. We closed that when we made the decision to move to Georgia August of 2015. After moving to Georgia, my husband became a realtor and I focused on working from home on my business. I continued to mentor and be a resource to individuals that reached out to me for assistance. My husband and I became authors in 2016, which we wrote a book to help others that came from where we came from and wanted to know that it’s possible to Defy The Odds. Our book was entitled Defying The Odds: On the road to success and can still be purchased on Amazon. We dropped a lot of jewels in this self-help novel. I created a women empowerment group called Illustrious Women, Inc for aspiring entrepreneurs to work together and let them know that there is power in numbers “there is enough success for us all.” Currently, I am a business coach I offer business coaching calls to anyone that is interested in becoming an entrepreneur or who is currently an entrepreneur looking to take their business to the next level. I am a brand strategist, visionary, and serial entrepreneur. I’ve had many highs and lows and from experience, I am able to help someone not make the same mistakes that I made as an entrepreneur. I am currently 1 of 3 members of the podcast called TMI Podcast where we give our opinions on everything. The other members are amazing one of them is a photographer/videographer of her own company Mi Visions Video and Photography (Miesha Armstrong) and the other one just so happens to be my little sister (Shanika McClain) which she is a nutrition coach for herbal life and is in the process of opening her own nutrition club. Make sure you follow all three of us on social media, follow our business pages, and our podcast and make sure you add our podcast on all social media platforms.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it hasn’t, however, I wouldn’t trade it for anything because it has made me who I am today. I’ve been through dealing with disgruntled employees, having a hard time trusting employees due to past experiences, people lying trying to diminish my character or brand, and so much more! Anything you can think of as it pertains to business has gone wrong. It’s not just with employees it’s business as a whole. It’s a lot with being an entrepreneur and most of the time people don’t share the struggles, but the struggles is what help others get through and learn.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Tina Brown – what should we know?
I am a business coach, brand strategist, and serial entrepreneur. I specialize in bringing creativity out of not only my brand but the individuals I coach and their brand as well. The thing that set me apart is I don’t compare or desire to be anyone other than myself. I pride myself on originality and creativeness.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Integrity, loyalty, honesty, customer service, being kind, and living in your truth. Be yourself and be real. When people feel you are relatable they are interested in what you have to offer, so being yourself is important because nobody can tell your story like you!
