Meet Bri Sumner of Officially Pricey in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Sumner.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 31, 1993, but I was raised most of my life in Atlanta. After high school, I spent a lot of time not knowing who I was or what I was going to do. So, I start trying a few different things, I had already moved out at 17 and was working a job and paying bills so independence to me has always been my only option. I started changing around to different jobs trying to find my knitch. I went to school to become a certified nursing assistant and stayed in the field for seven years. I was halfway through nursing school with a daughter and family when I suddenly just couldn’t take it anymore. I felt as if I was living the life that was forced onto me by influence and bills. I quit my job and dropped my classes and I started to get to know myself. I began to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. It has not been easy at all but I learned so much about myself and who I really am. I’ve lost friends and close acquaintances on my journey because we didn’t have anything in common anymore. I have always been a funny personable person. I have always loved entertainment and music. It wasn’t until I paid attention that I started to see myself for who I truly am. I began to notice all of the gifts that I’ve been blessed with and how people react to me and I started to put them to use.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has not been smooth at all. I face challenges daily but I persevere. I have a vision of who I want to become and where I want to be in life and no matter how hard it gets along the route, I will not give up.

Please tell us about Officially Pricey – what should we know?
I was given the gift to make people laugh so you can call me a comedian. I come up with material that is relatable and relevant but I am most naturally funny. I enjoy standup comedy and making skits. I can visualize characters in my mind and put them together and act them out so you can call me an actress. I love being on camera and I am very imaginative. I also have a way with words so I make music frequently.

What sets me apart from others is my uniqueness overall my look, my attitude, my mindset, my drive, I consider myself to be different.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel the characteristic most important to my success is being open to learn and work with other creatives. I also feel that living my life fearlessly means never-ending possibilities.
