Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Alexander.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Graduated from Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. Currently working on my M.B.A. at Walden University. I became a certified lash technician in 2016 after I had my son, London. At the time, I was working for corporate and was not happy, so I step out on faith and decided to start my own business which is now Lashed By Britt. Starting my own business gave me my own title to be my own boss.

Lashed by Britt is my world, it’s also my comfort zone, because I love making women feel beautiful and confident, doesn’t matter if you’re a client or a student who has been certified by me. Everyone I touch, my goal is to allow them to challenge their inner Beyonce’. My tag line is ” Blink with Confidence.”

I got where I am today by remaining humble and practicing my craft over and over again. Believing in myself and making clients feel special every time they get lashed keeps me going because we bond and have great conversations before the doze off for lash naps, lol. The students I teach are remarkable because not only are they learning lash history and getting properly trained. They are securing the bag and building their own brand. Helping the next individual grow and succeed is always my motivation, also my support system from clients and fan base and most importantly, my family, they teach me not to give up and never worry about the next.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not always been a smooth road because the lash world is overly saturated and very expensive to manage. When I first started had to be my biggest struggle. Trying to figure out who would trust me to be in their eyes. It was not easy but I put myself out there, got better at my craft, learned to brand myself and things started getting brighter. There is over a billion lash techs and beauty bars so I knew I had to work 10 times harder since it’s just me running my business. I have to make sure I’m always at the top of my game, staying updated with techniques and products is a struggle within itself but I kept going. Staying in my own lane helps me overcome struggles, don’t ever worry about the next. Just do you and be great at it.

Lashed by Britt is a lash company which provides services such as eyelash extensions and more. I provide many different lash styles to clients from a very natural eyelash look to dramatic looks. I can create the perfect look for you by specializing in clean, flawless and long-lasting lashes for any occasion that ranges from everyday beauty to special events. We also offer a wonderful lash course that provides intense and innovative information with 1 on 1 training that certifies you to become a lash boss.

I do lash extensions which is a procedure that consists of installing individual lashes on to one’s natural lash. Lash extension placement is one by one per lash very intense and detailed. Takes anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours while the client is laying down.

What sets me apart is that I take my time, it’s not a rushed process and I create more of a natural look that lasts four weeks. Being available is extremely important, I will travel to my client if it’s convenient for them because that’s how passionate I am about my job. Making sure my customers are satisfied is more important than money.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is the perfect city for whatever you may want to do, it’s always growing so there is always an opportunity to create and be your own lane. If someone was just starting out in Atlanta, I would say never give up and brand yourself. When I got here, I didn’t have any clientele but I kept working at it and it grew. So, stay focus and keep going.
