Meet Celease Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celease Williams.

Hi Celease, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
No one ever truly knows where this thing called life will take you. However, along the way, most of us find that thing that you do the very best at with very little effort. I observed at an early age, hair and communication were areas that I would stand out in on any platform. Being from a small town called Panama City, Florida, I became a licensed cosmetologist at the age of 21. However, my hair journey started at the age of 13 in the living room of our three-bedroom trailer, sitting on bricks in a neighborhood called Springfield. News travels faster than the speed of light in small towns. The more the news travels the more clients I gained. The more clients I gained the more I would hear, you better get licensed or someone could call the Florida Stateboard. It was in this moment I realized I had something bigger than just the ability to do great hair but so much talent that I was a threat to seasoned industry stylist. That was one of the biggest compliments I had ever received.

Once I completed cosmetology school, I went to work for a hair corporation, which didn’t work out for me. The next stop was a call center, only to realize I am an entrepreneur by nature. I decided to create some business cards, which I drew by hand, due to I wasn’t as tech-savvy as I am now, neither did I have any individuals around me that could even enlighten me with their knowledge to suggest, just order business cards, lol. I quit my job, became and independent contractor at a salon and begin to build my clientele. My clientele grew pretty fast. Clients were traveling from surrounding counties along with a large amount of military service members. The perfect clients. Why? If they’re traveling to come along with a military clients who receive monthly allowances and one of their core values presentation, I knew I had what it takes to open my own salon. I did just that, December 2008! Stylease Studios changed my life forever. Opening my own business at such an early age was my greatest accomplishment at that time. I had a barber and a freshman stylist right out of hair school join my team. Neither the barber who joined wanting to style hair nor the stylist were experienced in customer service nor styling hair.

The results of both instantly put me in the educator’s seat. Coming into the industry, a mentor would have put me on the fast track to success while preventing so many mistakes that I made and now appreciate along the way. I became the very thing I needed in the industry. Stylist educator, mentor and coach. Moving to Atlanta in 2013, enrolling in the cosmetology educators program, graduated and awarded the school’s FUTURE STAR EDUCATOR. Let me know you can still lead in an ever-changing industry being the new fish in a big pond. I’ve been on the stages of some of the industries largest beauty show conferences, sophisticates hair magazine, jet and many other more. I currently travel between Georgia and Florida. The salon lofts at midtown is where Stylease Education resides. With the Stylease Education brand you will experience Supreme Self Esteem when we educate, motivate and inspire the beauty industry and professionals around the globe.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth ride. I’ve faced multiple challenges alone the journey. Not having a foundation in business at the beginning caused me to miss out on the opportunity to sell my business when it came time for me to relocate to Atlanta. Another struggle trying to get the right team players on my team. Everybody doesn’t have the same goal as you. That is why you have the morning meetings, end of the week recaps to ensure everyone is on task and understand the companies core values.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed cosmetology instructor and master cosmetologist of 18 years. Education and hair extension are my areas of expertise and most people know me by both. I’m proud of remaining true to myself and the industry while leading in excellence by being courageous. I’m set apart by making sure I serve with integrity and making sure every client gets the ultimate client experience.

What does success mean to you?
My definition for success is when you set a measurable goal with a time frame and work your behind off and achieve it! It’s a mindset, discipline and accomplishment.
