Meet Chelle Antoinette of Berani Femme Couture Scrubwear in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelle Antoinette.

Chelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been a Registered Nurse for the past 12 years. As a nurse, besides clothes for special occasions, my closet consisted of scrubs! What I noticed is that the majority of scrubs that I’ve worn don’t take into account that many women are naturally curvy. In nursing, you just shouldn’t have to worry about if you bending over to complete a task and flashing someone behind you because your scrubs FIT but they just don’t fit your body “type.”

This is where my company comes in. Personally I design each scrub design and handpick the fabric that will not only flatter your body type but actually fit your body type. These designs blend current fashion with comfortable workwear in order to give you the best of both worlds! We also carry nursing supplies and apparel suitable for nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and students of healthcare programs.

I’m actually three months not my relocation here from Florida to take a job here a Grady Hospital. I am currently online only but will be opening a retail location here in Douglasville in the very VERY near future. Feel free to follow us on social media for updates.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it most definitely has not been a smooth road. I have been working on my designs for over two years. Right before my samples were to be approved for release in preparation for a summer release fashion show, COVID stopped all production. This has greatly impacted my business timeline (as I’m sure it has many others).

As a result, I had to brainstorm on the way to keep my prospective customers engaged; therefore I not only launched www.beranifemmecouture.com, where Nursing apparel and supplies can be purchased but I also launched my online boutique BFF Couture Boutique (Berani Femme Friends), a one-stop-shop of women’s clothing, accessories, Raw virgin hair, and much more. Our motto here is, “we have you covered after work too.”

Berani Femme Couture is the parent company responsible for Berani Femme Couture Scrubwear & BFF Couture Boutique. What makes my company stand out the most, I think, is my logo. I’m sure many people wonder what it’s all about. I feel that it was a great representation of Scrubwear and fashion coming together to work for YOU. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for comfort or comfort for style.

Something that I am proud about pertains to my company is the ability to have a foot in two arenas with good results. When I originally mentioned my idea to open a one-stop-shop targeted at fashionable healthcare professionals, a couple of people told me that I should choose one or the other, I didn’t want to. I felt that this was an absolute time saver for women who enjoy what zberani a femme couture Scrubwear had to offer as well as what BFF Couture Boutique has to offer.

What were you like growing up?
I have six sibling, including an identical twin sister. I was pretty introverted and kept to myself. As far as I can remember, I loved fashion and art. I remember entering and winning LOL) numerous art competitions as a kid. It actually comes in very handy with me personally designing my Scrubwear collections. Now I’m always sketching.
