Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Rosario.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My DJ career began in college 2016/17 with just my laptop. I would play music simply using the play and rewind buttons! Yes really! I took my love for music, as a musician who played 3 instruments, and the curiosity of how DJs back home in NYC would mix on the radio and went for it. 2019 I bought my first DJ board, sat down and practiced till I felt confident to show my new skills to others. It began on IG live, then I moved to online streaming platforms like twitch and MeetMe. From there, I gained the following and confidence so much, that I actually performed outside in Washington Sq park In manhattan. Even made it on the news abc 7! From there, I knew that this was exactly what I should be doing. Fast forward 2021, I moved a-lot actually! First to Alaska, then Arizona, and then finally by 2023 I made it to Atlanta. Over the course of two years I’ve already deejayed in various states and countries, including Canada! March 2023 Atlanta became my new home and I’ve been rocking out here since. Growing my roots and paving my way through as a DJ, a female dj at that. It’s been nothing short of a journey that I am excited to keep pushing forward.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A lot of the struggles dealt with me not feeling like I was great. It took me a long time to feel like, “ yeah girl you are THAT!” Doing something that is so male dominated and trying to get to that level that others were on did put a lot of pressure on me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Aside from being a DJ, I am a photographer with a BFA. I run my own photography business.
During the week, I sell windows. I’m your local marketing rep!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I grew up the only child in Queens, NY.
I was a smart, fun, funny, sometimes quiet kid. I love to play sports, I played musical instruments and I loved games. I just like to have fun. I was always doing something. Like, arts and crafts after school… or karate class. I got into basketball for a bit then it took over to rowing ( crew ) from middle school to high school. And then I played rugby in college.
Overall, I was the kid you’d always want to hang out with and you’d have a great time never a dull moment with me!
